"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 4th April Workings...
17 years 2 months ago
Afternoon.
Thanks for your help guys, and although it's a basic results mail, it still gives us the info we need for our records and so.......
This afternoon completed, and went as follows.......
The 1st runner we wanted 2.8, and with getting around 2.72/74 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.74 max. The lay lost and so a good result......
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.7, and with getting that at max, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay won, so the way it goes....
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.4, and with easily getting that tops, we had a lay at 2.4 max. The lay won well, so the way it goes.......
The 4th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being higher we couldn't get our price, so a race to avoid. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'.......
The 5th runner we wanted 1.4, and with easily getting shorter than that, we had a lay at 1.4 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result.......
The 6th runner we wanted 2.8, and with getting on shorter than that we had a lay at 2.8 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.32, and although an important non runner, we still easily got to lay at around 1.74, and with the lay beaten it was a good result.....
The 8th runner we wanted 2.32, and with the price shortening all the time, we had a lay at 2.32 max. The lay was well beaten and pulled up, so a good result.....
The 9th runner we wanted 1.8, and with getting that and shorter, we had a lay at 1.8 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes......
The 10th runner we wanted 3.0, and with getting shorter than that, we had a lay at 3.0 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result......
The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.8, and with being very well supported, we had a lay much much lower than 2.8, so we'll go 2.8 max to be sure of anybodys' price. The lay was beaten and so a good result....
WELL PLAYED.......
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 1 target............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and although they got off to a flier, it all then went sour with a couple of winners, but fortunately they bounced back to break level on their 4th lay (the 5th runner) and so with levels and only one potential lay left, with no room at all for error, they stop there at level................
They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 6th runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 7th runner)...............That left them with an insufficient amount left to start another strategy/target, so they win 1 target on the session...........
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.74 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.......They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.7 max, but a poor result see them go a bit behind...........They then had their 3rd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.4 max (much lower actually but we'll go with the highest), but a poor result see them go further behind.............Then came their 4th lay (the 5th runner) at around 1.35, and a good result see them recoup, so 4 runner strategy players are naturally level, and 5 runner strategists are level with one to go and so no room for error at all - So builders all finish levels.........
Bank building 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.74 max. Result positive. Win £57.
Total bank now £457
2nd lay £152 to win the remaining £43 @ 2.7 max. Result negative. Lose £73
Total bank now £384
3rd lay £192 to recoup the £12 @ 2.4 max. Result negative. Lose £17
Total bank now £367
4th lay £367 to recoup the £33 @ 1.35. Result positive. Win £33
Total bank now £400
Overall result. Level.
*Please note that with easily gaining better prices, under 10% of the target would've been needed on the 3rd runner, so they would've needed more to recoup on the last, but in the end it all worked out the same at levels, just to clarify*
*******************************
Bank building 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £80 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.74 max. Result positive. Win £46
Total bank now £446
2nd lay £111 to win the remaining £54 @ 2.7 max. Result negative. Lose £92
Total bank now £354
3rd lay £118 to recoup the £46 @ 2.4 max. Result negative. Lose £64
Total bank now £290
4th lay £145 to recoup the £110 @ 1.35. Result positive. Win £110
Total bank now £400
So with being levels, only one potential lay left, and no room at all for error, it's always advised to take the levels and walk.
Overall result. Level.

Traders I'm led to believe walked away with winning a little bit, but they had a couple of close shaves apparently, but the mails I've received all suggest a little win, so well played guys...
So a bit frustrating for builders this afternoon, as they naturally started early and looked for that early finish, but after a good start they had a big battle, but got the bank bank to levels quite easily in the end, so a bit frustrating with results afterwards, but they know they need to keep it ultra tight when building banks to become rollers. Levels never a bad result. Rollers hit one target, so got the wages, and that's well played guys. Have a good evening, and speak in the morning...
Marc.

5.40 Lingfield. SCARLET FLYER (3.1)
Our price 21/10 (3.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay.
All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09:45am.
That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. Again a mixture of races and make ups, and although never easy, we still have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings, and of course this afternoon's results..
