Unofficial Poll #2

Would you be For OR Against a redistribution of Prize money?
Say: 1st 60% - 20 - 10 - 5 - 2.5 - 1.25 - 0.75 - 0.5%
In otherwords: 2.5% off the current Winner's chq., so that another 3 places (6th-8th) get 'something'.
Although, if less than 8 runners - the money reverts goes to Winner.

With last 2 replies you will lose 95% of owners in the game. Only the multi's like Jooste, van Niekerks etz. will remain in the game.

Happy with current distribution percentage of prize money from 1st to 5th but the Racing Operator needs to be induced to increase prize money overall.

I agree with Jess that the overall package could increase.
So instead of taking 2.5% from the 'winner' maybe an incentive to run - in other words, like in dog racing - 'run money' of say R300 for runners outside the top 5, which would increase the likelihood of fuller fields, and thereby more competition.
Alternatively, if an overall increase in prize money which equates to the same win money @60% as is now @62.5%, so that the winner isn't penalised - meaning payments for 6th - 8th which again should lead to beigger fields and said competition.

I understand your point AB - that's why I put it @R300 run money - so not to overly encourage such abuse.
In Addition, there could be safe-guards put in place.
For example: only one paid 'run money' within any 21 day period.
Which would, imo eliminate any such actions, and as I said above - lead to fuller and more competutive fields.
