Have not read the thread but in the early seventies or late sixties
I was in Newcastle as a best man at a wedding, it was in Ashington and i went into a bookies and took 3 doubles and a treble

Warbash /petty officer and MILL REEF

they all won and had a great weekend

I am sure the prices were 12/1, 8/1 and 6/4

Cant tell you the losers i had last weekend
