Mark Khan is no youngster, I wonder if he wants to be riding or has to? I'm a fan of mandatory retirement by jocks at a certain senior age. My call would be 50/55.

52 years young.
Based on his last 10 rides, still petrol in the tank.
Happy for him.

Looking at him smiling in the winners box yesterday, definitely didn't look like a man that was forced to ride.

How does a man that is forced to ride look like Thor? I think its safe to say with Kahn's history both medically and career wise that riding may just not be his first choice.

Whatever the reasons for him (still) riding, I'm just happy that he is currently doing well at it, given his riding medical history!! Doesn't ride many of late but getting some places at good odds and the odd good win...6 away from 2500 winning rides so hoping he gets it during the current season...:cheer: :cheer:

Loved the competition between Mark Khan and Striker Strydom at their peak. I think Mark hit Striker with a whip in one close finish or was it the other way around?

Made lots of money on them.

Sadly today we do not have the same calibre of jockey!!!

It was the Lonsdale Stirrup Cup. Strydom rode Superwood which drifted in causing The Eiger Sanction ridden by Khan to be checked severely which in turn other horses got impeded. These two horses was fighting out the finish until that incident occured with The Eiger Sanction losing any chance of winning. While all this was happening The Badger ridden by Lloyd ended up winning the race. Mark Khan after the winning post presumably out of anger whipped Strydom.
