There was an objection soon after. A group of disgruntled punters vented their disapproval of the objection outcome by standing on the track near the finishing post and gesturing obscenities to the stewards. One disgruntled even pulled out his knob and shook it towards the stipes. Yip, those were the days, I see 17 years ago, my goodness.
