St Leger and the ARC

Good morning and if you are reading this, it probably means you are still alive and kicking.👍

What can one say in these challenging times.
The mind boggles with Zuma, Elections, Covid, Unemployment, Corruption etc.

It’s maybe best to focus on racing but that also has its challenges.

We still await the outcome of the late closing of the Tote and hopefully we get a totally transparent reply.
Was it a once off genuine mistake or was it a planned manipulation that backfired?
Let’s been honest, it was the last thing we needed at this stage, with the historic anomalies the punters have had to endure with the Tote over many years.

We probably will be losing a top race caller/presenter in the next few weeks, yet to be confirmed but another sad loss for SA racing.

On the subject of unfair, what about the one year ban for the Van der Merwe ride on Fast and Fearless, would love to get the Singapore Stipes here for one meeting, I get the impression racing would be closed with the lack of jockey availability.

I see the forums are full of ideas on how to turn racing around with numerous suggestions from the punters but it’s unlikely the powers that be will take any recommendations.

I was recently thinking about what got me into racing and my long term memory is better than my short term memory .
Sir Ivor, Nijinsky, Mill Reef got my blood pumping after trying dog racing.
Getting back to the heading of this thread, I know it’s day 2 of the Doncaster St Leger meeting.
INSPIRAL runs today and it might be a short price but where else can you get 40% ROI in under 5 mins and look forward to seeing the unbeaten 1000 gns and Oaks ante post fav.
Stradivarius runs on Thursday and how can we forget its last race and he will have to again be at his best to beat Trueshan with Hollie.

Let’s talk about the St Leger, it’s the oldest of the Classics and makes up the last leg of the triple crown .
The triple crown is the 2000 gns over a mile, the Derby over a mile and a half and the St Leger a further 2 and a half furlongs.
It’s over a 5 month period at three different tracks, Newmarket, Epsom and Doncaster and it’s rather elusive the criteria being should a horse try the triple crown or miss the last leg in preference of winning the ARC, in my opinion the greatest race on the planet.
Well Nijinsky was the last horse 50 years ago to win the triple crown and then was just touched off in the ARC.
I have put a link up at the end of this post below, which is worth a watch.
The fav for this years St Leger is Hurricane Lane and looks hard to beat but remember the mighty Shergar was unplaced at 4/10 in this race also many years ago.

As far as the ARC everything is in place for a classic, Snowfall still tops the boards at around 3/1 with Adayer and Tarnawa 6/1ish (note this one runs against St Marks Basilica in the Irish Champion stakes on Saturday).
Hurricane Lane might also run.

Also note! Palace Pier could clash with Baaeed on the 16th Oct in the Queen Elizabeth ll Stakes.

Good Punting and may your God be with you .🙏

This is a small but cracking field and the form of the top 3 is exceptional.
If you fancy Patrick you can have 50/1 and he gets 50 thousands euro for pitching up.
It's a race I will only watch.

Ryan should win on the 1000gns winner Mother Earth.

I don’t know which post to comment the Leger.

Got 9/1 on Ottoman Emperor for the Leger. Prosperous punting.

I have been preaching Adayar for the ARC and after the weekend results it's gone back to joint fav.

ADAYAR 4/1
TARNAWA 4/1

Latest ARC betting

TARNAWA 33/10
ADAYAR 4/1
HURRICANE LANE and SNOWFALL 13/2

We have a few doubtful runners

ST MARKS 30/1 PLUS
MISRIFF 20/1
TEONA 25/1

So just be careful

Good Punting
