Kenilworth 27/11

Whilst the main action is up at Turffontein, think there is money to be made down South.
Greg Cheyne didn't cover himself in glory on Wednesday on Whoa Whoa Whoa, got the feeling he will more than re- pay for the Xmas presents, lunch and drinks come Saturday - probably the stay-cation as well if we go back to Covid Level 4/5. Enough rambling.
The double :-
R5) African Rain X (R8) Long White Cloud (8/1 or thereabout)
R5) African Rain, bumped some really smart sorts last time out, led up to the distance and wasn't disgraced when finishing 2.25 off the winner. He gave the second placed finisher and fellow 3 year old, Zapatillas, 3.0kgs and finished 1.50lengths off him, put Zapatillas in this race, what price? Last time out, second run after the rest so can be excused for tiring late in the race. Peak run, and bumping the right kind of field here, he should be very competitive.
R8) Long White Cloud, peak run and should appreciate the extra furlong. Last time appeared to hit a flat spot before regaining her stride and running on smartly. Think the summer course will suite her style of running, if breaking on terms, don't think she'll get beat from a tidy draw.
So, no, "i didn't get the memo. my internet was down", snooze you lose.
Enjoy the Summer Cup meeting, as well.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race 2 : Lucy The Pink , the trainer/jock combination looks to be right and will try a few doubles with the 1st race on this one

Western Cape has some of the best horses in this country.
Why are we being subjected to piss poor fields and racing week in and week out???

Horrible drift on Long White Cloud and Cheyne going for a treble.
Doesn't inspire much confidence but hopeful none the less.
