Summer Cup Quartet Caught by Aus Punter as Well
2 years 4 months ago
On my calculation with the exchange rate he scooped around 500k with a layout of around 11k. Did mention in the Summer Cup thread the pools go up drastically in the last 2 minutes due to commingling. They know the carryovers are being added into certain exotic bets and with their strength of their currency wherever they punting from a foreign jurisdiction they 1000 of whatever currency is like a normal bet to them due to their economy.

First four on Group One race 'pays' a monster $4.3 million
By Luke Sheehan 5 hours ago
An astonishing first four dividend in a Group One race in South Africa this week has been explained by the powers-that-be at TAB.
The G1 World Sports Betting Gauteng Summer Cup (2000m) was run and won at Turffontein on Wednesday morning (AEDT), with Flying Carpet causing an upset in the feature race.
None of the top-seven fancies in S-TAB's tote win market featured in the first four home in the 19-horse feature, so it was no real surprise that the dividend was large.
However, you rarely see a first four pay seven figures, especially at international venues like Turffontein.
The exotic dividend didn't just trickle into seven figures either, it paid a whopping $4,299,615.60.
The first four pool for S-TAB was ‘only’ $276,703.75, so as confirmed by TAB, there was just one winning first four bet - a ticket for 1.02 per cent.
That punter boxed the field for $950, and landed a return of $43,907.67.
It was a ballsy (outrageous!) bet that could have gone badly pear-shaped, but instead the punter took a sizeable chunk of the pool with his paltry percentage

It would have been a great local headline story if a local punter would have won, great promotion for the Tote locally.

In my opinion, South African punters also managed to catch the quartet as well. 1% for us is like 43k. A huge amount for 1%. This is where the operators need to emphasize big wins. Even when a punter makes a small outlay for R20 and wins 20k, this should be advertised.
In Australia media, whenever a punter wins a nice bet its advertised on social media. Sometimes the winning punter does share his name but most of the time its a screenshot of the winning ticket.
South Africa is lacking attracting horseracing punters through social media but alas let a Soccer 6, 10 or 13 bet be caught for a big win, its splashed from print to social media.

Not boasting but I won a percent of the quartet in the Summer Cup. Stuck in Johnny Hero only because he ran in the Vodacom Durban July.

No wonder there was a delay in the withdrawals.

Looking at that last tab on his browser, a youtube video of MVVM, which is a development architecture he was obviously learning, one would think it would be easy for him to edit the HTML of the Hollywood page in his browser and change it to display whatever he wants it to, then take a screenshot, much the same as refund scammers do. It seems he's now wised up a bit and crops his screenshots so you only see the relevant parts.
