Weekend racing plus Royal Ascot

Good morning all and I hope you are looking forward to the weekend and obviously next weeks Royal Ascot.

Before we focus on racing I continue to be horrified with the state of the current affairs both locally and Internationally.
How can we even continue to comprehend what is happening in the Ukraine.
Plus the gun laws in the States.
As far our local politics are concerned, it's incomprehensible that the ANC continue to do more damage to themselves and the future of SA.
I watched Parliament on TV yesterday and how embarrassing this fiasco was.
They insist on calling each other “right honorable “ if they were a bunch of school children carrying on like that, they would get detention and have all privileges removed.

Comair is another sad story.
Get your flights early for July.

Water shortages, power shortages etc.

Let me focus on our beloved sport.

It’s a strange card at Aintree tonight with only 30 runners in a 8 race meeting at least you should catch the PA.

We have some nice local racing this weekend from Hollywood Greyville on Saturday and Turffontien on Sunday.
Littlemarysunshine looks a banker, Zarina vs Marina a good clash, how good is Jet Dark? Master Archie also looks a banker but I fancy William Robertson to give a good show for GGGaming.
Maharanee is a banker for Sunday and all eyes will be on Naval Guard but again I hope for a good show from Silent Witness.

Just a bit of a taster for next weeks Royal Ascot meeting with daily updates to follow.

Some highlights

Tuesday 14th June

Humble Tune runs at Vaal (more to follow).

In addition

Queen Anne : do we have another Frankel in the form of BAAEED, impossible to oppose and the 9/20 has long gone.

St James Palace : Coroebus also looks PTP

King Stand : where the American flying machine Golden Pal will be hard to catch at a backable 2/1.

Wednesday 15th

Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge and Royal Hunt Cup.
Where the impressive Bay Bridge should be worth a punt in the Price of Wales.

Thursday 16th

Ribblesdale: no doubt that EMILY UPJOHN will make amends for her unlucky Oaks defeat.

Gold Cup: we all want Stardavarious to win but Kyprious and Truesham should make it a great race.

Friday the 17th.

Commonwealth Cup, King Edward VII and the Coronation Stakes where Homeless Songs vs Inspiral should be a great clash.

Saturday 18th :

Harwicke and Jubilee stakes

Hurricane Lane a big runner

Suggest a few ATCs
With above suggestions.

Good Punting

Footnote:

Beware of the Russians and Chinese’s and on the local front the ANC ......🤥

Nature Strip King Stand

Baaeed Queen Anne

Coroebus St James

Sly will do a day one post later and certainly agree that Baaeed and Coroebus double at around evens is a must.

The sprint classic King Stand is a match between the Australian and USA flying machines
I am going for Golden Pal to beat Nature Strip the treble is 8/1 ish for both.

Hi

I agree with
Baaeed and Coroebus.

In the King Stands Sprint I want to give Winter Power an ew at 20/1. She needed the run after a break last time. Raced handy on her comeback and faded late. Very fast filly may just last long enough.

Good punting

ROYAL ASCOT
Tuesday 14/06

R1 BAAEED very impressive and will be hard to beat if not impossible.
.Reminds me of that other beast Gaayaath.

R2 BLACKBEARD Highly regarded and will get the O'Brien team on it's way.

R5 BRING ON THE NIGHT Looks a typical lay-out by the greatest trainer in the world and has Ryan Moore in the saddle.

In the King’s Stand we have an Aus horse, a Czech horse and we have a Queen’s horse. A few years back I remember a Czech horse running a 2nd or 3rd in a Gr1 after being last by a long way during the the race. Dare I say but was it a race won by Frankel?
