My Top Fancy - R6- Rouge Allure

Thoughts ....

R1: Market support for Houston - does not have to be superstar to win this - Twice the Storm tries shorter again after a disappointing effort - I agree Burgess for the first 3 should not miss as the other first-timer does not seem fancied

R2: Gregarious Gal on her debut looks very hard to beat in a moderate line-up - only the first-timers could be threat if any ability

R3: Atlantic City on his last run is my fancy - I make Treaty a danger at the weights

R4: Competitive F&M Handicap - Castle Durrow overdue and gets 4kgs off - first choice for me; Gilda Gray set to improve imo - but this is open and most have a chance of winning

R5: Only 5 runners, but none can be discounted - will depend on the pace

R6: Pinnacle Stakes and I think Opera Glass at the weights over the trip could make them pick up their feet; next best imo Ocean Warrior and Youcan'thurrylove - Rouge Allure seems better over shorter, but not totally without hope

R7: Looks a two-horse contest between Roha (better at the Inside Track ) and Special Variety; Rosaprima at the weights could be the upset

R8: Another F&M Handicap - so not easy; both Pettigrew runners have been disappointing, but for me Princess Philippa has her 3rd run after a break and could be the right one; Mamaquera always thereabouts and not to be ignored; Timeforthat and Mix the Magic both not drawn well, but can run into the money with Risky Business who could improve over this 1400 from a good draw

R9: Really tough race; Esquevelle and Integrate look safest for the PA, but not many without a chance.

Listening to Niko be so amazed about being able to Google the meaning the name of a horse is one of the reasons I lost interest in listening to presenters.

This would actually be fine if they were talking horses and not taking time away from Aus races with their faces on full screen. The same problem every weekend.

Race No. 1) 5. Twice The Storm ... has the best credentials as has run a very good race over track and trip in penultimate run and shapes as the one to beat but has been drawn disadvantageously in 1, most will prefer outer draws to have that slight edge, 9. Houston ... First timer is getting hammered in the betting market and looks like book makers are running for cover, cannot predict anything just by looking at the backing but if the confidence showed by the connections come true, then a new superstar is born, 4. Northern Tune ... seems good enough for places or for back end of trifecta and quartets.

Race No. 2) The hottie can arrive and that too in style, no value in the odds, horses with race experience are coming in after lengthy layoffs meaning lot of issues/niggles and cannot take call with confidence, 7 Misava ... the first timer with good jockey booking can run into the money.

Poor start, got bumped, then switched to the inside halfway through the race, never in it. Not sure Danielson will get the ride next time. :whistle:
