A few mins after Durbanville race 1...
I know which one is driving more pool participation, but curious what other forum members prefer?

Galloptv cannot broadcast Cape Racing.

Channel 240 can broadcast KZN racing but 4Racing cannot stream it on their two Global Channels.

4Racing does stream racing from other venues but Galloptv is way ahead in this regard.

I enjoy both depending on the day.
I like seeing the more detailed coverage on big race days and the split screens on days like today. I chop and change screens.
grateful for the options and the mute button between races.

240 have lifted their game.

Covering other venues and trotting may drive 'pool participation' - but for me personally I don't think I have ever had punt on Mauritius and certainly not on the trots - so much prefer the local stuff

.....if GallopTV were as short sighted as 4Q a lot more damage would be done in regard to KZN racing and racing in general....4Q/240 was only allowed to broadcast KZN racing by the goodwill of GallopTV yet no quid pro quo.....but sooner or later should Cape Racing fall in with GallopTV then 4Q will be painted into a very tight corner....

If any foreign venue offer exotics, it should be shown with a split screen. If there is a Grade 1 race at the same time then its understandable. If there is a Group 1 race in UK, Ireland and France it should be broadcast if possible.

There are numerous times that the Quick Mix legs of the Jackpot or PA is not shown.

I can understand wanting to watch local racing, but is your enjoyment going to be impacted so much by having a split screen for the venue?
Note, this post is not pointing out the lack of Durbanville, I understand that, but rather to point out how proactive Gallop is, rather than just running the local feed. I should not feel alienated as a punter if I like to bet on international venues as well, and 240 racing makes me feel that way sometimes. Yes, some punters are going to be solely for watching local races, and good on you, but don't restrict other viewing opportunities in order to force local racing on air all the time. If that was the case, then we should not bet on international racing at all.

.....even though 240 have upped their game they still lack the ability to multitask with other venues by trying to get as much of the local racing feed as priority and therefore one is driven to toggle between the options to follow other racing....and by240 over concentrating on local racing is not really to get punters to wager more ....but done not to p!ss off owners and other connected parties...the punter is not ever a priority and thus local racing will never grow ...

240 Definitely upped their game, got rid of the house music, picture quality vast improvement. Glitches trying to watch their documentaries though.
Gallop night racing was good, drone footage and all the hype, looked like they pulled crowds there.
I say Gallop ahead in this one.
