Thanks fingers we considering options but plan is to be in the flat for minimal time during retirement.
I do have data on phones etc but do like a big screen.
Used plenty data on travels .

@ Dave - an Ups is about 40 cms by 40 cms - had mine since 2009 - runs big screen tv, desktop, laptop, wireless and various small items

ups (uninterrupted power supply), inverter - same thing - uses one or more batteries, switches over seamlessly, warning beeps if batteries get too low, fully charges batteries when escom switches on again - absolutely no hassle until a new battery is needed
