Gilded Butterfly - Featherboa Stipes report

a) At approximately the 1200m, Jockey R Simons felt something amiss with GILDED BUTTERFLY and eased this filly out of the race. As a consequence of this, FEATHER BOA (K Matsunyane) which was following, was carried out significantly and lost ground to the field.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine GILDED BUTTERFLY and Trainer S T Pettigrew was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables.


d) GILDED BUTTERFLY examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Veterinary Certificate required prior to racing (Rule 49.7 applies). Trainer S T Pettigrew advised (TL).

.....thankfully she did not break down.....was expecting the worst by the way she was pulled up and put her stable companion out of contention to win the race .....and this again shows racings highs and lows..... as both Pettigrew and Simmons both had a double earlier in the day.....:huh:
