# Hollywoodbets Scottsville Sunday 11 February 2024 – Comments by Andrew Harrison
RACE 1

5 GROVEFIELD   6 GLAMORZ   2 SUNKA WAKAN   3 PULL A FAST ONE

Summary: GROVEFIELD (5) found one to good for him on debut but that form has worked out quite well and he should come on with the experience. SUNKA WAKAN (2) takes on males but improved nicely second time of asking and should be ready now with the benefit of Rachel Venniker’s 1.5kg allowance. Stable companion GLAMORZ (6) has put in two smart recent efforts on the soft. She should put in another bold effort for Paul Lafferty. PULL A FAST ONE (3) found some market support on debut but raced very green. She is sure to improve on that showing. (Andrew Harrison: 5-6-2-3).

RACE 2

3 RAINBOW OF ROSES   1 WESTOCKMARKETBORSE   5 JOAN THE WAD   4 LADY IS A CHAMP

Summary: RAINBOW OF ROSES (3) has improved at her last two and was a close-up second against males last time out. Nathan Kotzen has declared blinkers and she should put in a decent showing in a weak maiden. WESTOCKMARKETBORSE (1) has her first run for her new stable. She has been knocking at the door for some time now and the change of routine could see her go one better. JOAN THE WAD (5) was running on nicely at her two on the poly. She is seldom far back and her turn will come. LADY IS A CHAMP (4) is a long-time battler. She looks held but has a money chance at best. (Andrew Harrison: 3-1-5-4).

RACE 3

5 RUN TO RIO   2 CATAVAR    4 MAR DEL PLATA   7 SILVER SAVAGE

Summary: RUN TO RIO (5) has run two good races over course and distance for Stuart Ferrie. He was a close-up second behind the well regarded Yannakis last time out and can go one better. MAR DEL PLATA (4) made surprise improvement last run when starting at long odds. That was in the soft but he has only had four starts and may now have come to hand. SILVER SAVAGE (7) also improved at long odds in the same race and must have a chance on that effort. CATAVAR (2) was a touch disappointing in the soft last run after an improved previous showing. He was shorter in the market than stable companion Mar Del Plata. (Andrew Harrison: 5-2-4-7).

RACE 4

4 FUTURE FLO   8 PHUTULICIOUS   7 CAPTAIN MARSALA   5 HELSINKI

Summary: FUTURE FLO (4) disappointed in the soft last time out. He has run well for Michael Roberts in feature company and was touched off on this course two runs back when over a mile. Look for a big effort. PHUTULICIOUS (8) was touched off over course and distance last time out. That was only his third start and a repeat will see him close again. HELSINKI (5) is overdue but his best recent form has been on the poly. He gets a tongue0-tie for the first time and cannot be left out of any calculations. CAPTAIN MARSALA (7) has been in the money in all three starts since staring in blinkers. He was a beaten favourite last run and can make amends. (Andrew Harrison: 4-8-7-5).

RACE 5

3 MALCOLM’S DREAM   8 LADY HEIST   5 FORESHORE   4 ICE SUNSATION

Summary: Tricky Pinnacle Stakes. MALCOLM’S DREAM (3) is a little out at the weights but goes well over course and distance. She is not the easiest but Mark Dixon appears to have finally got her mind right and she can follow up. LADY HEIST (8) was a well-beaten second behind Malcolm’s Dream last time out and is now 2kg better off in the weights. She is seldom too far back and must have a strong winning chance. FORESHORE (5) was a touch disappointing last run but is smart on her day. ICE SUNSATION (4) has been knocking on the door for some time now. She could well prefer this shorter trip. (Andrew Harrison: 3-8-5-4).

RACE 6

3 ADDABAR   5 CAPE EAGLE   7 DOWN TO BUSINESS   1 BELLA SICCOME

Summary: ADDABAR (3) set a ridiculously fast pace in the Michael Roberts Stakes as Calvin Habib battled to settle him. It was no surprise that he faded the last bit but was just over two lengths back to winner BELLA SICCOME (1). He is 0.5kg worse off with Paul Lafferty’s mare but is Deryl Daniels can get him to settle there could be a form reversal. Bella Siccome again has a light weight and meets second-placed CAPE EAGLE (5) on the same weight terms. Andre Nel’s gelding steps up to what may well be a more suitable trip and can turn the tables. DOWN TO BUSINESS (7) has his third run after a lengthy break. He had top class Zimbabwe form and should now be close to his peak. (Andrew Harrison: 3-5-7-1).

RACE 7

1 GET IN THE Q   4 WAR EMPRESS   5 ISN’T SHE BONNY   7 PELARGONIUM

Summary: Wide open handicap. GET IN THE Q (1) got a four-pound raise in the handicap after her last win but she has been racing against stronger a Mark Dixon’s filly can go in again. WAR EMPRESS (4) comes from a very much in form stable and will not be short of a gallop as she stepped out three times last month. He recent winning efforts have come on the poly although her current turf form is not bad either. She is 2kg better off with ISN’T SHE BONNY (5) while RAPID FIRE (9) found market support last run and only has 52kg to shoulder. PELARGONIUM (7) was touched off by War Empress on the poly last run and is 1.5kg better off in the handicap. (Andrew Harrison: 1-4-5-7-9).

RACE 8

3 EL DRAQUE   11 NORTHERN WARRIOR   9 BUSTER KEATON   6 QUICK STAR

Summary: Plenty in with chances here. EL DRAQUE (3) took an age to shed his maiden but made a smart handicap debut when facing a useful field. He gets 2.5kg relief from the saddle as Alyson Wright has again booked apprentice James Lihaba. NORTHERN WARRIOR (11) is over his preferred course and distance and should have the measure of both NDAKA (2) and HAPPY WANDERER (7) given the turnaround in the weights. MJ Odendaal has booked inexperienced apprentice Nihana Baboo for the ride on QUICK STAR (6) but the veteran gelding has been in good form against stronger of late and could give the apprentice his first winner. BUSTER KEATON (9) has been a beaten favourite at his last two in the soft. He could prefer this straight course. (Andrew Harrison: 3-11-9-6).
