.....would have liked to have posted something on this before the race but was afraid of egg on face......initially I was in the camp of him not getting the trip....until I peeled back his pedigree and saw that he has stamina in his tail line and related to Victory Moon ....however his running style is that of a sprint/ miler and his dam an out and out sprinter never tried over further.....even MDK pointed this out but echoed that he would not stay because his sire GTML was a sprint/miler....yes in running style as a race horse.... yet more recently I have noted that several racing mares are by GTML are being stepped up over ground and are featuring and nothing in his ped to suggest that he could stint stamina like say Trippi which is one of a rarer examples of a sires greater influence to over dominate the tail line and stint genome.....but back to basics.....stamina genome is predominately passed in the tail(female) line and the sire only enhances the genome or in many instances is neutral like the sprint sire VAR who had a rare few that got ground one of which ran 2nd in the July costing me the exotics as I brassed it being by a sprinting sire.....lesson learned.....so I was warming up to the Prince but not to win it....but in a slow paced race could feature and even added it to my exotics.....only got a handful of swingers with 8on18 .....that imo paid poorly due to the fact that the race was removed from the world pool and the operators gouged their usual punitive rake....would like to see the times of the consolation race against this race to see how much slower they went....

i did the ST for all the races already. Call me crazy...but i think he will be a better sprinter miler(but not the best, becoz of GIMME A PRINCE(sprints)  and ONE WORLD(Miler) who has shown to me, imho that they will be the absolute best in their respective fields. Sadly...5,6 or 7 races yesterday had faulty times...So i basically got irrated with all that kak times. It shows that TRP ran the last 100m  19 seconds slower than 8 on 18....19 fcukn seconds!!!!! That is 1.2Lengths!!!!! Now go watch the race and see where both were from the 200m and thats all u need to know its absolute BS!!!! I found similar problems in much of the races. HK is closing for the season this month and i so much want to take SA racing seriously...but in all honesty the ST is up and down to say the least.  But there are positives aswell.  I will post my findings later on.

I forgot....as far as the breeding goes....Very well done for you on picking that up. I wish i couldve had the time to do the breeding for all potencial horses on my H2F list for Sa, as i do for HK. But the time is just not there. Ill post horses who stand out on time...hopefully you guys who are breeding experts can point out who can do what? Anyways...thanks for pointing that out abt the marr

.....and as for the July pace.....it was ideally made for 8on18 who had showed in the Daily News that he can quicken from off a moderate pace.....little did the Snaith's factor in that it could bring in an unexposed sort to run them out to the line....so their tactics actually suited the eventual winner....the hard luck story was my lurker Native Ruler who zig zagged over the final furlong checking twice and lost plenty ground in side to side bobbing and weaving as the 3rd and 4th placed runners closed gaps on him....miffed

The drone shot that Bob posted, highlighted Native Ruler as the best finisher barring the top 3... Including all the zig zagging.

.......the times for both races were pretty moderate and July run split seconds better but still poor considering Otto shouldered 61kg and raced wide throughout.....but this additional post is to again defend GTGL as a out and out sire of sprint milers....drilling further into his ped see some remarkable endurance that goes beyond distance....2 relatives of GTGL's dam who foaled 2 full brothers born 1 year apart ran a combined 208 races between them for a total of  32 wins and 27 places and total combined stakes of Ozz$1.4BAR....the 1 year younger brother participated in 130 races....the term "hard knocker" springs to mind...wink wink
