WTF is up with the tote

.....the HK dividends are still stuck on race three....in disgust I placed my bets sadly on the tote and went out hoping it would be functional by the time I returned...over 2 hours ago.....a place bet in race 5 gave me a payout equal to my investment so I presume a refund as it paid out more than that in HK....when are these okes going to ever get it right

I gave the tote a try again after many years as I know it's the right thing to do for racing.

I won't go into all the details but on at least 10 attempts where I thought I had the better of the bookies on win and place options I was returned a worse price 😢

An example would be 7/10 with the bookie place and R1.90 on tote as they enter the boxes.
results R1.30 on tote.
so I will stick to poor bookies price as at least I know the fixed price before the off.

Good Punting 👍

I have said on many occasions let the tote have the exotics and the bookies the fixed odds.

Alternatively come up with a National exchange 😉

.....thought I'd throw them a bone for being a bit better.....but now shy away and stick with the open bet boys..tote betting into large commingled pools like HK is normally much better than fixed odds....but so ever frustrating riddled with tote inefficiency.....

catch 22 situation

There is not one reason as a punter why you should use the tote... But as a racing fan they pull on your heartstrings

When Greg Bortz launches his exchange there will be another dilemma

if punters don't put money on exotics you will soon find a P6 pool of 200k yet open bets will  maybe have a pool of 2 mil..I dont use the tote ever so I'm no help

Offer value products and the punter will be on. The tote is missing great opportunities by not understanding their market and strengths and even greater opportunities because they don't pursue creating new markets for racing. It's really sad to see a good product and platform not given maximum opportunity. The tote is necessary though, especially given it's role in the funding of the purse.

There are so many UK meetings, yet they only offer exotics on one meeting in the evening, and one during the daytime. If they actually had understanding, they'd realize that punters like PA and Jackpot bets, but the laziness to load the pools for more than one venue is too much.
Actually maybe I am wrong, and maybe it is getting socialites that nobody has heard of to come to the course that builds pools and revenue for the tote.

In our punters view the tote is doing nothing to move the exotic bets away from the bookmakers .Just a thought do you not think that the tote is making more money from soccer bets than horse racing? Heard a while back that bookmakers will let go of the exotics but tote need to let go of the soccer bets .I don't think focus is on horses racing pools think the soccer bets outgrew horse racing bets exponentially.i am also of the view that a big percentage of horse racing tote pool comes from on course bets .Most of us that take off course bets are normally playing exotics with the book makers .

.....my beef with the tote is not really about shitty odds/payouts but how f@cking @seless they can be.....yesterday they lose a link with Singapore and no tote board and dividends for 3 races....today I am back with WSB and cracked a big swinger at Chataubriand race three..... but the tote do have not have the venue loaded that display the odds and payouts.....thank f@ck WSB have paid out on the french dividends....because the tote is too useless to do the job they are supposed to be doing....providing the dividends for the open bet

4Q has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that they don't poseess the requisite competencies to run the tote.

It may be time to hand this responsibility over to one of the other operators to save what is left of the tote.

4Q, the mother of all royal 4cups that continues to piss off the few remaining customers that support the tote product!
