4Racing & Betway Unveil Exciting Theme for Betway Summer Cup 2024:

Silks in The City

Johannesburg, South Africa, 08 July 2024
 – 4Racing, South Africa’s premier horseracing operator, in collaboration with leading online betting and gaming brand Betway is thrilled to announce the theme for this year’s edition of the Betway Summer Cup: Silks in The City - where racing heritage meets urban sophistication.

Silks in The City is a celebration of the city of Johannesburg, its economy, and the long-standing tradition of the Summer Cup – taking place on 30 November at Turffontein Racecourse, the Betway Summer Cup marks the start of summer celebrations. Everyone can look forward to a day filled with phenomenal high-quality horseracing, fashion, and top-tier entertainment, making this year's Summer Cup the best yet.

"We are excited to present Silks in The City as our theme for the Betway Summer Cup 2024. This theme perfectly captures the elegance of horseracing and the vibrant energy of Johannesburg - the home of Turffontein racecourse. Horseracing silks are symbols of pride and heritage and are reflected in this year’s Summer Cup logo - which pays homage to the previous five winners of this historic event. In this great city, we are diverse and also immensely proud. We encourage everyone to show off their individual style at the Betway Summer Cup 2024," said Fundi Sithebe, Chief Executive Officer of 4Racing.

Supporting the event since 2022, headline sponsor Betway will continue as the official partner of the Summer Cup. “Horseracing forms a key part of our South African sports sponsorships - alongside rugby, cricket and golf. As we enter our third year of the sponsorship, we are thrilled to once again partner with 4Racing for the 137th running of the Betway Summer Cup. We look forward to seeing the best horses in the country battle it out at Turffontein on 30 November.

Turffontein patrons can look forward to more than just racing this summer season. Hospitality facilities inside the historical Blue Plaque Racecourse main building will be undergoing upgrades during the winter – which will add great value to the 4Racing customer experience. These facilities are set to be ready for the Betway Summer Cup, so make sure to purchase your tickets at Ticketpro.co.za. We are certainly out the boxes early with this one .

Should be interesting which horses we can expect from the Cape and KZN .

I guess after the Gold Cup we can start speculation about an ante post market.
