Kamatcha vs. Instaworthy

Both  ran second in their races over the week end of the 8th and 8th november 2025

One ran in Cape Town in the Grade 3 Cape Mile and the other in Gauteng in the listed National Colour stakes.

However because if race conditions in the Western Cape Kamatcha (MR 93) comes away with no penalty and Instaworthy with a 13 point penalty.

So the Cape Mile for some unknown reason has its conditions set that  only the winner can receive a penalty of no more than 6 points and all other placed horses recieve no penalty.

Why would a race have such a clause??? This puts winners and placed horses in similar races at large disadvantage goign forward.

Does Gauteng offer such races ona  regular basis??

Just curious.

Further to that the phrase all other placed horses, is open to interpretation. Can horses 5th to last be givern a penalty?
And Zeitz being the line horse, very lucky for the winner as he only copped a 4 point increase instead of a 6 point increase.

I find the Handicapping Conditions a bit strange - why not do away with all the 'limits' being set for certain races ? I think it is more or less the same issue as JG has about Maiden Handicaps upsettting the Stud Book .... still Instaworthy imo copped  a few points too many
