Very competitive card, made even more difficult when you throw in three apprentice races. Must say, i find groom races easier to work out than the apprentice races, reason being, the grooms carry the same or similar weights - the apprentice races, that's another story.
Race 2, see there has been support for Little Boy Blue (5/2 into 16/10), think the values lies with Winter Snap (18/10 out to 22/10). On their runs to Good For You. Admittedly Winter Snap may need the run, but that applies to a few in the race, need the run or second run after a break. Oddly enough, on the same day that Winter Snap finished second to Direct Hit, Winter Snap's time was faster than that of Giimme A Prince who won the Grade 1 Flying Cape Championship - admittedly Winter Snap was racing fit at the time. Barring injury, looks like they skipped the KZN season to allow him to strengthen up and overcome any niggles. Will be in the Winter Snap camp despite the support for Little Boy Blue.
The obvious two likely winners on the card look like the two Kannemeyer runners, (R3) Gimme Rules and (R5) Gallic Victor. Gimme Rules is now outright favourite for the Cape Guineas, so shouldn't take too much effort to win this. Gallic Victor, going to trust Zackey's choice of rides as Coco's Hero is also owned by Khaya Stables and he has ridden both.
Fairy Knight looks to be the proverbial penalty kick if the betting is anything to go by.
