I think Golden Palm will be beaten (first run at this course and going the opposite way around the turn) - imo Lowveld Lily much better value.

Also in the sprint, I think that Candy Town is a 1000m specialist and she needed her last run

Frodo, there is a predicted 20-25 km/h SSE wind tomorrow. This may or may not affect Candy Town 🤷‍♂️

Yip - wind will always be a factor and one needs to try and gauge what the effect of the wind will be closer to race time - the report currently states '30-36 km/h south-easterly cross wind' - so chances are not great imo for a front runner - especially around the turn where together with the longer straight, the wind might be a factor

Tell them to start running now, if they want to beat the Palm.
Richard Fourie is the greatest...

De Melo probably hit the front too early...nothing he could do as the pace setter faded rather quickly in front of him.

Not an easy card.
Race 1- mostly unraced babies, no selection
race 2. Loving Prague good last effort, should win
Race 3 Sugar Daddy very good debut, is the one to beat. Fort Yukon improved second start and is the main danger. Give It a Laldy fair debut and has been priced up favourite but will need significant improvement.
Race 4  Note to Self looks the one to beat. Baton Rouge has been knocking on the door.. Miami Summer another improving youngster.
race 5. Holding Thumbs is the class horse but has to give away lumps of weight. Congressman  has solid form but  Ahead of the Facts should beat him again. Open race.
Race 6. This used to be a WFA contest and has now been stuffed up by a change in conditions. Bad for the breeding industry. Now very open. Direct Hit is very talented but a tough task at the weights. Asiye Phambili is the class older mare, but also lumps of weight and returns from a break.  She's my World and Miss World carrying just 51kg must be respected. Plenty with chances.
Race 7  Golden Palm has been impressive and is a worthy favourite. Princess of Gaul,  Lowfeld Lily and Quickstepgal look the three next best. Reet Petite could be anything, but has yet to run against this calibre. At this time of year, can't rule out something showing big improvement.
Race 8 Open contest. Touched By Angels, Delta Pride and Objet D'Art are all improving. United Front had excuses last time and could bounce back. I prefer the 3yos but some hard knocking older horses will test them.
Race 9, Another open race where there are a number of unexposed younger fillies.  Inner Bloom, Kattekwaadkwadraad, Midnight Lady and William's Woman all have scope for improvement. Beach Verse improved with blinkers and La Landonne are useful.
race 10. A tricky class 4. I'm going with rank outsider Caribbean Gold. Ignore last run.
