"It was time " "It was about time " "Finally"

Good morning, Clan.

After listening to Cyril celebrate with his comrades about the “new challenge” the ANC faces to keep votes coming in… I couldn’t help but touch on politics today.

Surely it is "finally time" for him — and the ANC — to realise they’re continuing to drag South Africa backwards and really should move aside.

He proudly announced that crime and corruption remain major issues.

Of course they are.
It’s easy to have a “cash cow”… or should I say a “cash couch”… but maybe just steal a little less? 🤣

Job creation?
Unemployment remains at record highs — but let’s keep BEE exactly as it is. 🤣

Service delivery?
People simply want running water in their homes… but instead they get potholes deep enough to double as a bath. 🤣

And now gender-based violence is suddenly being given high priority — conveniently pushed ahead of the Zuma case in the judicial queue. 🤣

Naturally, we’ll have more “discussions”, “dialogues”, and “commissions”… anything to avoid taking real action or holding anyone accountable.

Racing Today

We head to Hong Kong for the International Jockeys’ Challenge — always a tough card to find winners on.

Ryan Moore rides Corleone

Zac Purton aboard Winning Money

James McDonald and William Buick also in action

Note:
Ka Ying Rising stays home — apparently the money isn’t heavy enough to bring the superstar to Ascot. I doubt the owner needs the cash, and in my opinion, the horse should make the trip.

About My Title – “El Etait Temps”

That’s the translation behind the title of today’s post — and the highlight of last weekend.

Yes, Newcastle won.
Yes, Hearts beat Celtic in Glasgow.
But El Etait Temps stealing the show was something special.

How amazing would it be to see Hollywood and South Africa land a winner at Cheltenham?
El Etait Temps is now favourite for the Champion Chase — though it won’t be easy with Marine Nationale, Majborough, and Sir Gino all lining up.

Worth watching the replay to appreciate just how good this was — especially considering Jonbon has finished first or second in 26 career runs.

Jumps placings:
11/11121/111211/11211/111212-22

Seeing the Hollywood silks beat the iconic JP McManus colours was something truly special.

Good Punting 👍

RYAN MOORE made an emphatic big-race return when landing the Longines International Jockeys' Championship under the bright lights of Happy Valley. The jockey, who returned to action with a double at Lingfield last week following a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a stress fracture to his leg in August, showed no signs of rustiness when winning the first and last of four legs on  Corleone  and the aptly named  Triumphant More .
