Texas Missile in the 8th, my best bet of the day. I will also have a few nibbles on most of the Alec Laird runners, especially Theodore Rooseveld ew in the 1st.

2nd meeting on the Standside track at Turffies - by 3 Jan we will have 4 meetings in 8 days - resulting in sub-standard fields (1 Grad Plate where 2 of the 6 runners are hopelessly outclassed and a 4-horse field in the Pinnacle) - it boggels the mind
- plus the weather is not ideal
R1: Turn It Up has impressive form-lines, so hard to beat - unless one of the first-timers prove really special
R2: First-timer Foxy After Dark found a weakish field so must have a chance on debut; Duchess Zara made a fair debut and should improve, while the ex-KZN filly Bell Of Angelus can surprise
R3: Taking A Risk odds-on, but she has been beaten a few times, so perhaps Rock Music who is trying blinkers again could prove superior; then we have Stoneywood (full brother to Dyce, who might be a one-hit wonder for the family) could surprise and follow his illustrious brother's footsteps
R4: Delaware RIver again might not find an easier opportunity from pole position; only danger seems The Reason who ran on well over shorter
R5: Looks a 2-horse-race again between Trombolines and the filly Reece's Wish; perhaps the entire Jabberwocky (who probably now needs this trip) can surprise
R6: Speedman very short in the betting, as he is many pounds out with Parisian Walkway and Solar Sail (who both ran disappointingly in the Summer Cup); I suspect either of the 2 will bounce back
R7: 4-horse race, where the top 3 in the betting will probably dominate, as Poets Warrior has shown dismal form recently
R8: Finally a proper handicap; I think Military Moves has the right credentials to beat Texas Missile and Real Stunner; the ex-Cape runner Repetition might surprise
R9: Open race, where perhaps Michael Faraday has now learnt to race; Golden Aspen not far of MF last time and has been threatening to win again after 544 days
R10: I think that Tommy Atkins is probably the right one (only rated 83 after his Maiden win), as War of Kingdoms has yet to prove he stays 1400, while Guerilla Warfare is struggling to win
Enjoy
