Thoughts .... and may the selections prove mostly right in the New Year
R1: Babies - according to the betting, it does look like a 4-cornered conquest - I tentatively select Custodian
R2: Imo Anahita will win easily after not having things going her way in her last run; dangers could be Liefling (bound to improve) and Onceinabluemoon, who is the value from a good draw
R3: Jaffa has a wide draw, but does come into 8 (and there is a long straight) - I think he will prove hard to beat over 1600; Lance Alot is probably the biggest danger, but it does seem that the stable elect is preferred from jockey arrangements
R4: Merryweather on her last run (from a wide draw) does look to have the best credentials; Mocha Frappe a danger as he is improving and gets weight (as a 5yr old gelding from a 3-yr old filly)
R5: Imo both Kudzu and Player are big runners - as the favorite might be too short (especially as it is trying 1600 for the first time and imo did not beat a lot in his previous 2 wins); Max the Magician is often thereabouts and will feature
R6: Open contest; Dimako's Jet, Future Date and Artic SIlver often placed and looks the safest from a BP and PA perspective; Art Nouveau (looking at jockey arrangements) will probably need ths run
R7: Another open contest; not sure if Top Shelf Teddy is a worthy favorite; I do prefer Littlemissspendid at the odds and Surprise Party can also feature
R8: Sounding like a stuck record (for those that are familiar with the 'older technology'), but this is open again; I do prefer Crepuscolo from Casus Belli
R9: Jockey arrangements tell us that Al Greenga is preferred to Russina Nobility, but both are drawn a little wide, so I think that Magic Carpet Ride can follow up over the extra trip on her last win
Enjoy

The field of race4 doesn't look all that strong. BUDDY BOY should win this.
