L'ORMARINS KINGS PLATE COMPETITION ??

Hi clanners,  anyone going to HOST a     L'ORMARINS   KINGS  PLATE   competition this year  ?

Unfortunately -  can't be me.........   I am still away in AUSSIE...

Gavin Lerena.......   QUICKSTEPGAL........   why is he NOT riding this horse @ 56.5  kgs.  He won a GR1  on her last time.

He rides race 10  @  57.0  kgs  for PETER MUSCUTT........   so QUICKSTEP   only carries  0,5  kgs  LESS..  56.5  kgs.........  does not make sense to me  !!!!!

Even if he put UP   0,5  kgs.. overweight.......   would that be so bad ?

I am prepared to be score keeper for the Kings Plate Buy-in Competition.

We need a competition revamp - if one take ante post price and the horse starts much shorter on race day, you pick that fancy showing the ante post price, so if it's starts much shorter, then the person who took the ante post price, gets that value (if it wins) for the competition - case in point, i took 4/1 about JVG, unless it looses a leg, can't see it starting bigger that 4/1, if it does win, probably pay R3.00, if that.

Full card betting is out, backed another horse and i see it has shortened in the market, probably start favourite - the trick would be to post the ticket as proof, should it win, you get the gist.

I am all for a 'revamp' of the competition,  but to be fair to everyone, takes a lot of 'admin' - I'd suggest that the scorekeeper / administrator gets a 'free' entry; the other thing that irks me a bit is that someone picks a 100/1 shot and automatically wins the competition (although I can't suggest a 'better way' - as the object of the game should be to make the most profit); perhaps a better way would be to (in addtion to the 'dividends') also add points to the winning selections - but that adds to the 'admin' of the scorekeeper / administrator.

So the bottom line would be 'if it works, dont change it'

The beauty of the tote payout is the absolute transparency and immediacy.

their  formula is.

tote  win    &  ADD    7 points     so    R    6.00     +   7          =   13,00      THEY  DO NOT   ADD    a place payout to the WIN..

2nd place.....  tote place   ADD 4 points       3.50   +   4        =    7.50

3rd place  tote place  ADD   3 points     3.10   +  3                =   6.10

4th  Place   TOTE PLACE    add   2 POINTS.   2.00  +   2    =  4.00
