I personally found the stretch across the wide straight track difficult to follow, so I am really interested to see how Rifle Queen does in her next start. Gavin rode a smart race, but were his fractions/pace correct throughout the race, time shall tell...
My feeling is that the outside horses were under pressure to set a reasonable pace, whereas the inside draws could sit back and race in the group, biding their time. Easier on the jockeys too. All in my opinion.
