Thoughts ....
R1: Does seem that Bakwena is the one to beat after the scratchings - but I would not take odds-on on a filly that had a win over 1500m - and this is 2000m - also is not wearing blinkers or ear muffs .... the opposition is very moderate though
R2: I do fancy a bit of Master's Lady at the odds - best over 1000, well drawn and gets the 4kg allowance; first-timer from the Pettigrew stable is finding betting support - so who knows?
R3: King Redoute was backed as if the result were known before that race, but disappointed - so is he a 'morning glory' or not ? Not a great field and benefit of the doubt points to him - but not at odds-on ....
R4: 4 left only - and African Pride is fast, but on his last run ..... does hold sway at the weights though; Trajanus also had a poor last run when 'blowing' and is held by Alpine Jet; perhaps Alpine Jet is the right one at the odds ?
R5: Competitive; at the odds I would back both Saketini and His Lordship, while Abound also appeals at the odds
R6: Again not easy, but Stormy Day seemed quite good on her first two wins and now goes over 1200 again, so rates the one to beat; imo main dangers are Tuscan Romance (pole position) and There She Goes, who is in the form of her life and will be running on
R7: From the draw it seems like Season's Greetings may be the right one, for me the danger is Plumbago Park, while Miss Novax might have a chance as well, but is drifting in the market ....
R8: Most open race of the day, and might be an option to go wide; in the PA, I went 4 runners - Chabal, Cartagena, Copper Plate and Arlington Action ...
R9: Open again; I would not take a P6 without including at least half the field in the last leg .... Unsolved Riddle each-way ...
R10: From the draws, I'd side with Northern Kitten and Spirited Girl (both in good form) - but as with many races, quite open imo
Enjoy
