so lets address the elephant in the room.

here we find a jockey tipping a horse to a punter for monetary gain or not, that another horse is working better than his horse in a race , and have a go!!!
Thats the crime as i understand it, but without any deliberate bad riding , or being misplaced in a race , the above horse is beaten. Are we 100% sure that it was deliberate.

but moving on, a trainer on the other hand tells a jock that we dont want to necessary knock this horse around today , so as to not incur any necessary penalties, etc etc.

and the horse loses.

is the punter not the victim here, as this is deliberate and akin to a severe penalty as well , because unbeknown to the punter, he/she was short changed ala Note to self a few runs back, King pelles with Patel up, many many more blatant examples.

how is the 2nd scenario different to the first.

my take on all of this , that there is no justice especially to the punter , if they are going to pick and choose the battles, in this way it would look that its personal vendettas being actioned .

now that this precedant having been set, I want to see concrete and more penalties served to clean up the sport once and for all.

"I want to see concrete and more penalties served to clean up the sport once and for all."

It is wishful thinking to think the game will be cleaned up, completely or ever.

Hi guys, there is a massive difference

BLING has been found guilty of stopping a horse for a bookmaker to make profit

Fucking over the Sport, Punter, Trainer and Owner..

Overseas if you lay a horse to lose, on say an exchange that you directly train or own or ride you are warned off.. Not only from riding

But from every part of the industry

You know what caused this?
Nothing else but pure and utter greed

He must have made millions over the years in riding fees, work riding, sponsorships, win % money etc etc

Why do it when you know that one day you will be caught

Greed.  simple as that

Interesting where the details of the findings were ?

Betfair picks up unusual trends
Eg a punter lays horses for normally R100 and now he is laying for a few grand on certain mounts

Local bookies book could also show unusual trends on certain horses being layed at more liability than normal.

On Bling's FaceBook page -  www.facebook.com/bling.khumalo - if you click "view more comments" on the posts he shared between the 7th, 10th & 15th February and then select "All comments" from the drop-down instead of "Most relevant", you'll see this:
Noor Iqbal
Subject
Confidential Anonymous Integrity Report – Evidence Submission
Dear Integrity & Compliance Department,
This email is submitted as an anonymous confidential report regarding suspected race-integrity violations within South African horse racing.
Evidence in my possession raises concerns about possible arrangements linked to race outcomes, where payments appear to be associated with a horse not achieving a winning position (“lay of horse” activity), involving jockey S'manga Khumalo.
The available material includes:
• Voice recordings discussing race conduct
• Payment transaction slips connected to racing events
• Observations of riding behaviour that may be inconsistent with full competitive effort
Due to personal safety concerns, I request that my identity remain confidential. I am submitting this information in good faith to assist the Integrity and Investigations Unit in protecting fair competition.
All original evidence files are attached for your review.
Regards,
Anonymous Reporter

Guessing whoever this guy is - clearly not really "Noor Iqbal" - he finally got through to someone who listened.

@Bob, unless i missed it on the charge sheet, there appears to be no mention of collusion with any bookmakers, please can you highlight for me.

Mr Khumalo was always the first to thank the grooms for all their hard work - I wonder if he gave the grooms that worked so hard a share of the money he got for riding horses in the manner he was found guilty of...: restraining the horse; failing to obtain the best possible placing; deviating from instructions without reasonable cause; and/or otherwise riding in a manner inconsistent with a bona fide attempt to achieve the best possible placing.(found guilty of this charge)  That folks is what we as punters call PULLING A HORSE

Charge should have been "pulling a horse without trainer or owner's consent" :D
