FAIRVIEW RACECOURSE TO CELEBRATE WOMEN’S DAY IN SUPPORT OF REEVA STEENKAMP FOUNDATION
Fairview Racecourse will mark Women's Day on Monday, 10 August, with a special day of racing and fundraising in support of the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation.
The event, being held in conjunction with the Foundation, will combine a full eight-race programme with a celebration of women and a host of fundraising activities, including lucky draws and an auction.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation, with funds raised through the Women's Day event going towards supporting the Foundation's work.
The Bold Silvano Room will be transformed for the occasion, with each of the day's eight races named in recognition of the sponsors and supporters who have contributed to making the event possible: Equifeeds, the South African Jockey Academy, Fegen Agencies, World Sports Betting, Luister FM and V&A Air Conditioners, Hopes And Dreams Stud, Allied Steelrode and the Hollywood Foundation.
Guests will also have the opportunity to win a host of prizes throughout the day, with every event ticket automatically qualifying for the lucky draws.
Prizes include fitness classes from Aerobics with Jesse, a car service from The Car Guys, ladies' hampers, vouchers from Barney's Tavern, Three Legged Pig and Bushmans Mudpies, Richmond Hill Brewing Company, Coconut Clothing tote bags, a riding lesson from Jade Equestrian, massage vouchers from Blue Water Bay PostNet, golf sessions, gymnastics sessions from Ibhayi Gym and other prizes.
There will also be an auction during the afternoon, with Tania and Tilly from the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation offering a selection of items including a painting of a horse, Police sunglasses, Jean's Hair Team vouchers and wine, with additional items expected to be added to the auction.
Racegoers can also look forward to Drinks, Curry & Rice vouchers, courtesy of Jacques and Shakira from the Hear The Drums room, which will be valid for three months.
Tickets are R150 per person or R1,500 for a table of 10, with a limited number of tickets still available.
