Kentucky Derby Draw... Who you backing?

I am an avid follower of American Racing. This is what horses that I know won the most important points races to get into the Derby.

Mo Donegal won the Whitney.
Epicentre won the Louisiana Derby.
Crown Pride won the Derby in Dubai. Japanese Horse.
Zandon won the Toyota Bluegrass.
Taiba won the Santa Anita Derby.
White Abarrio won the Florida Derby.
Cyberknife win the Arkansas Derby.

From all of them, the most impressive winner in my opinion was White Abarrio and 20/1 was still offered.

Taiba has won 2 from 2 and only made its debut in March 2022. It beat Messier. Both horses are ex Bob Baffert horses.

They have made Zandon the 3/1 morning line favorite but 8s was on offer until yesterday.

Simplification won a Group 2 prep but White Abarrio has beaten it two times. Can be thereabouts.

Charge It ran second to White Abarrio after winning a maiden but was beaten as a longs odd favorite before that. Could have gotten closer if was not green. Will like the longer trip.

Mo Donegal closed in sharply to win so will be running on.

The experts say Summer Is Tomorrow will make the pace. I have seen Classic Causeway running and loves to be right up there. If the pace is suicidal then Crown Pride the Japanese horse will be running on. They are on the rise, the Japanese.

Thanks for that, huge fan as well. I follow Andy Serling's (Nyra bets) selections, he's really good and tipped last years winner at a very decent price, needless to say I was all smiles.
In my opinion him and Maggie Wolfendale,in particular, offer by far the
best on course feedback....absolutely miles ahead of SA and UK presenters.

Needless to say, I bet almost exclusively on American racing these days, and it's worked out way more profitable and enjoyable.

No Donegal won the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct. He is drawn 1 so has zero chance. He will have to drop out and come around at least half of the field to win.
Can't understand the betting between taiba and messier. Taiba beat messier easily in the Santa Anita. Come race time taiba starts much shorter. For me, no chance. Not enough experience.
White Abbario won a very slowly run Florida derby. Might not be fast enough. The one to take from that race is Charge It. Green as grass in the Florida in only his second start and still managed to run a gaining second.
Zandon is a very good horse but I'm worried about his draw and if he breaks in terms. You will need tactical speed this year.
I love smile happy. Good draw, good price, great prep. He is my each way selection.
Another I like for the back ends of quartets is barber road. He is going to love the stretch out to 1 1/4 miles. Should be running on for a piece late at a great price.
Overall I prefer the east coast horses over the west coast ones.
Epicenter will have to work out a trip from that draw but visually he has been the most impressive during the preliminaries. I don't think he stays.

Friday in the Kentucky oaks there will be a hotty called Nest but I prefer a lovely dark bay fully called Kathleen O. I think she takes all the beating.

Won both it starts in a common canter but has not raced until last year. Was the favorite for the Breeders Cup Juvenile before it was scratched. Watch it for the Classics later like the Travers Stakes.

In the Oaks, I like Kathleen O who is undefeated. Echo Zulu is undefeated as well. Secret Oath ran against males last time to qualify for the Kentucky Derby. Never had the best of trips and finished third. There is a horse from Dubai, Shahama, I think its undefeated. The Oaks is on Friday.

Jackie's Warrior is carded to run in a race on Derby Day.

Hi Naresh. Does the Beyer have a unit of measure? For example a MR is in pounds. Can I say that White Abario is roughly 6lb inferior to Taiba?

Wiki says “The popular rule of thumb for a rough equivalent of the Timeform score is to deduct 12-14 points to achieve the Beyer figure”.
