Been very impressed with his consistency on the Aussie wickets. And he is no mug with the bat. So its another all arounder in the line up. Good for SA cricket.
Hold on there. These selectors are going round and round. Every series there is another spinner. Tahiir come and gone, Harmer come and gone Piedt come and gone and now the new bloke soon to be gone if the trend continues They, the selectors imo don't know their best squad

Lol, agreed there have been alot of changes, but I do feel this is our best Test spinner we have had in a long time. Tahir is an ODI and T20 bowler. His stats prove that. Harmer is not a spinner imo, he is a straight slow bowler. Piedt is a good spinner. But Maharaj is a good spinner who can bat. Another positive for Maharaj is being a left armer. So its equivalent to a right arm leg spinner. Which I would select over an off spinner every day of the week, if he is consistent.

We forgot the other left arm spinner Psonigo he looks decent. How good is Rabada. Earlier in this thread I posted that he would get 600 test wickets by the end of his career. He is on track to get it. He will be up there with all the other greats

I was just going to post, when last was there a quick at his age who was so good with reverse swing (one of the hardest things to perfect in the game imo). He is so talented.

The term, reverse swing, is a not a new thing it's just a new term. 10 years ago it was out and in swingers.

In and out swing is just the term used for the direction either coming in or away from batsmen. Reverse swing is different from convectional swing as convectional swing, the ball tails towards the "unshined" side of the ball, when the ball is new, and reverse swing the ball tails towards the "shined" side of the ball.

My issue with the refferal system when lbw's are reviewed just proven in the Mitchell Marsh decision. Original decision Not Out. Reffered by SA and decision changed to out. I have no doubt in my mind that the ball was never ever going to hit the stumps if it followed the looping line that it was swinging on. DRS however does not take this into account and has the ball straightening after pitching which was never hapening. I really dont think it is accurate. Good for the game, yes. But accurate, no...
