What a sensational knock by Bairstow to get 100 of 97 balls and for England to win the Test Match against New Zealand. They chased down 299 in 50 overs. I think they needed to bat around 70 overs.

England needed 160 after 38 overs in the final session. They did it in 16 overs.

Stubbs made 72 of 28 balls against England last week the first time he batted in a T20 international. It was a brutal knock. Stubbs and Brevis are currently contracted to Mumbai Indians and will definitely be holding onto them.

Onto the T20 World Cup, its going to be very tough on some players missing out. With Roussow back and Stubbs showing his mettle its going to be a selection dilemma.

I'd go with Hendricks - don't think he can be left out after 3 consecutive 50s, while vd Dussen (like Bavuma imo) is a better option in the 50 over format; a toss-up between Jansen and Parnell - both left-arm seamers and batting-wise not much to choose imo - maybe Jansen as the young gun will get the nod; if these 15 are in the team, I think they are well balanced - for any match-day team, I think one needs 6 players that can bowl - 5 bowlers just leaves you a bit vulnerable imo - especially if one of them has an off day - like happened to Shamsi at Bristol

SA play Ireland in two 20/20 matches in Bristol this week. Drop de Kock open with Markram and Hendricks and bring in VD Dussen.

All the Test players will be rested, I think. There are 16 players in the squad for the T20s including the Test players.

@ Frodo. The grounds are bigger in Australia and it makes sense for Rossouw to play.

Markram provides a spin option.

Stubbs has been sensational and again due to ground size will be a better option.

Miller due to his IPL season and then stand in captain and clear the boundaries in Australia will be in the playing 11.

Van Dussen is a brilliant player no doubt but takes time to get going but is a good timer of the ball. He will be unlucky not to make the squad so will Reeza Hendricks after the player of the series.

Andile Phehlukwayo has the knack of taking wickets. I prefer Pretorius though.

I doubt they will player two spinners in Australia but they have been doing well playing together.

Ngidi is back in form and his slower ball has bamboozled England. Even the commentators kept mentioning it. I doubt they will leave him out of the playing 11.

Need a left arm seam. The critics are saying that India are vulnerable against left arm seam

South Africa has a realistic chance of going all the way.

That’s a tough group.

I am looking forward to the qualifiers. I enjoy them more than the actual tournament. Unless they bring in the boundary ropes we won’t see any team score 200.

South Africa in all likelihood for the ODI World Cup is going to play in the qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

IPL owners bought all the franchises for the T20 tournament in South Africa. South Africa will give up their points to Australia in the World League ODI to host the tournament.
