Just for Laughs needed the run as expected and 1000m was too sharp.

Two runners at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Secretary of State in race 1. She ran on nicely on debut and will have come on from that. Has a tough draw and is bred for further but can run in the money with luck in running.
Versailles runs in the 8th race. A competitive handicap, but must have an ew chance despite the jockey choices.

Three runners at Greyville on Sunday.
*Miss Jacqueline runs in race 4. Wide draw but can run in the money.
* Princess Anastasia in race 6. If not needing this after her break has a good chance.
*Just for Laughs in race 8. Wide draw and may still need this. Only a week since her last run so not sure what to expect.

Secretary of State scratched.
Versailles disappointing effort.
Miss Jacqueline stayed on 5th but had to do a bit to overcome the draw and no extra late.
Princess Anastasia decent run- looked like she needed it a bit and should win soon.
Just 4 Laughs scratched.

Some nice runners at Kenilworth on Tuesday
Race 2 *Fynbos takes on the boys, but I think will relish this trip and should be spot on after two comeback runs. Warrior Bling could be the one to beat but expecting a good run.
Race 3 *I’m in Charge debut. He will probably need this but looks a fair sort on work at home.
Race 4 *Helen’s Legend has been disappointing so far -hoping to see her bring her homework to the racecourse.
Race 5 *Pretty Betty has had a nice rest and this is a prep run. Has just had the one grass gallop so will come on from this run. Very small field so she may find herself in front and if given a soft lead could steal it. Marina has had a run this season and is the one to beat.
Race 7 Veni Vidi Vicci takes on some very promising younger horses. Better than last run and could be involved in the finish on best form.

Had a nice place double with Miss Jacqueline... draw beat it for a place. Will follow again next time out. Thank you.

Fynbos very good run- just lost on the nod of the head.
Pretty Betty a good prep run- would have been a lot closer if not baulked by Kailene in the straight. Will bring her on nicely for the Victress.
Helen’s Legend continues to disappoint.
I’m in Charge needed it more than I thought. Probably one more sprint and then go his right trip.

Nice run from * Cape Point today at Fairview- close up second.
*Encryption steps up in class but good draw and low weight in the 7th race. She is in good form and could surprise here.

At Kenilworth on Saturday
*Gentleman in race 1. Similar field to last time and is a big runner.
Major Attraction runs in the Merchants. Don’t know if she has the pace, but good run last time in the Diana and if a stiff headwind could surprise in a very open race.
Exceeder runs in the 4th. Small field and an open race - should be competitive after a fluent maiden win.

Encryption well positioned but jockey stopped riding her in the straight.
Mhlabeni another good effort over a trip short of his best- watch him when he goes 1800m or further.
Nice win by Gentleman in a tight finish- good to have a photo go our way after two narrow misses last week. Workrider got a bit over enthusiastic with the stick, but did well to get him to rally again after the other one passed him.
Exceeder good run, but was placed too far back off a moderate pace by the jockey. Was the fastest finisher, but just a bit too much to do in the straight. Developing into a nice stayer- will win again soon.
Major Attraction good run over a trip a bit too sharp.

Montfort runs in the 6th at Greyville on Monday. Back on the poly, and should do much better than last run.( Note that the Raceform card erroneously shows this as a turf meeting)
JP Twothousand runs at the Vaal on Thursday race 4. Hard to know what to expect after poor run last time. Penultimate was promising so hopefully he bounces back.

Good win by Montfort- clearly best on the poly. Pleasing run by JP Twothousand tied for 4th.
On Friday we bred Secret Depths in race 8 at Fairview. Competitive race - she ran a good race first time on the poly and must have a squeak in this field, but probably better on grass.
Relatively quiet weekend:
On Saturday, *Treasure Hunt in the 8th at Kenilworth. Very open race, and not the best of draws, but would think that she should be better this trip.
At Turffontein, Sound of Warning runs in the 4th on Saturday. Tough field but good comeback run last time and should be in the mix.

Secret Depths might have to wait for a turf race to win-she is better than her poly runs in PE.
Not bad by Treasure Hunt- had to switch out in the straight otherwise finishes in the money. Good to see her settle and run on this trip. Will be at her best over even further now that she is learning to relax in the race.
Impressive win by Sound of Warning, although I’m still amazed that she sprints as the dam Siren’s Call was a 2000m filly. We have a cracking Vercingetorix half brother for the NYS next year.

Elusive Fort on the wrong side of both close finishes/ objections with Magnum PI and Big Burn

Four runners at Kenilworth Wednesday :
Exceeder runs in race 5 and should win.
*Grey Princess and Versailles both run in race 6. Open race. The rain should help GP.
Veni Vidi Vicci in race 8- must have a shout in another open race.

Understated runs in the 4th at the Vaal on Thursday. Hope he can do something for the new owners, but is a few lbs under sufferance.

Mhlabeni in the 8th at Fairview on Friday. Good draw and the right distance-big runner.

Good day on Wednesday with both Exceeder and Veni Vidi Vicci winning. Both are late maturing types and have scope to improve further. Good luck to the connections.
Grey Princess dropped just 1 point by the handicapper- needs to drop 5 to be competitive. Versailles a bit disappointing.
Vaal abandoned.
Mhlabeni never in it, very disappointing.

Only one runner at Kenilworth on Saturday. *I’m in Charge needed his first run more than I thought. Gets another run down the straight. Will improve but I’m not expecting too much until he goes further.
*Drama Queen in the 7th at Scottsville on Sunday. This is her best distance, low weight, should be competitive.
* Miss Jacqueline runs in a weak qualified maiden 8th race on Monday at Greyville. Plum draw and should go close.
Montfort runs in the 7th, and can follow up on her good win last time.

Over due but very pleasing win by Drama Queen after the postponement and change of venue. That’s our 3rd winner from just 9 runners this past week.

Monday’s card now postponed to Friday at Greyville.
On Tuesday, Understated runs in the 6th at the Vaal. There’s been a fair amount of rain, but hopefully they get through the card. Ignore his last run- he was heavily under sufferance. Now in a very open Classified race, and despite being bottom of the betting board he is not without a chance.

Also on Friday, two runners in the 8th at Fairview. *Cape Point and *Jean Paul. CP good run last time and must have an ew shout again. JP goes this trip for the first time, so not sure what to expect from him. Can win if the distance suits.
