Just one for Naresh, re the DSTV - don’t you mean “one device EXCLUDING the DSTV decoder”?

You only will be able to stream from one device only. DSTV decoder will work as per normal.

I get it, thank you. I see “stream” is the key word here.

Was not sure which thread to use but I will be first to admit I was excited and positive about 4racing coming on board.

However it's certainly not what the punters were expecting or hoped for.

I am also aware ABC is regarded as negative but if we include the comments on Sporting Post the new channel has come short on many fronts.

In trying to summarize what went wrong, when we were told everything was in place and the new team were going to improve on 249

It now appears that everyone that was old school 249 are back on board, so the question is who did they fire or remove that knew which switches to throw and who did they bring on board that does not have a Scooby-Doo?

Fingers crossed 🤞

My 2cents worth.
There was a JV between Phum & Gold Circle to share ch249.

This JV came to an end with 4Racing taking over Phum.

Ch249 needed to cease because the JV had ceased.

So, ch240 was created to accommodate 4Racing. So, Ch240 was just adopted from Ch249 with a few tweaks just to show there were “positive” changes. But, for some technical reason, DSTV cannot provide HD for Ch240 - a massive blunder and mngmnt cock-up for 4Racing.

Gold Circle adopted a different, but interesting, distribution media channel.

Can someone please check their crenova menu.

I only have channels 1-9 in the menu, of which only 1 and 2, both Gallop TV work.

GR1 used to play on channel 8, but now it comes up with a message saying

Not enabled for GR1 - please contact 4 Racing

Thx - load shedding so cant immediately check, but I know there are only
channels 1-9.

It gets hit every nite by load-shedding, so the system doesn't re-boot or update the menu.

Maybe there is a rescan option somewhere - will check in 2-4 hrs lottery.

No - the channels re-organized themselves with a reboot one day.

This is now stuffed - I found a satellite search menu, but it didn't seem to be doing anything.

Now, on reboot, it flashes - boot .. followed by load, accompanied by a red light .

The red light goes off, but load is still on the crenova display.

No picture.

I think it's not happy .. will leave it for a few hrs.

Ok, some good news.

I managed to get the crenova box to stop the load - it was asking me to save the profile, and maybe due to load shedding, the HDMI receiver was black and didn't display.

Once I had fixed the HDMI screen, the display came up and just saved.

The scan of the satellite doesn't bring up a new list - I only have 6 channels now.

Maybe the box isn't authorized for 4R GR1 or 4R Local - thou it did initially show the 4R content.
