NHRA seems to bring to the fore the adage that given a little bit of power / authority, people will find ways to abuse it...

What did SANTA say about this judgement? Don't they represent the common trainers as well? Or just the POSH ones

Hi Mark. If the stipe was found to be drunk on duty (according to the testing protocols), then inaction by the NHA is delinquent.

However Mark, these are 2 separate issues.

The fine seems extreme, though. Are there precedence or guidelines on what the sanction should be for such offenses?

Reading Andrew Fortune's account that he paid this stipe to help him cheat the scale when he was working as the clerk of scales is shocking.... I hope the NHRA call Fortune to substantiate his claims.... how much do we not know as punters? How can we trust a system that is so open to abuse ..... If a stipe owes money to the people he must police can that ever be allowed?.... And will the NHRA charge Fortune for his utterances which bring Racing into Disrepute? If they don't then they are acknowledging them to be true ...nowhere to Hyde here I think...

I would like to know the full story before commenting, obviously there must be a bigger picture. I notice that Juan Nel has been the only one not giving any version of his side,doesn’t have to. So one leaves it as that.
However Andrew Fortune made a confession that must have big consequences for both him and the stipe. Perhaps he also had a fall out with him as now he comes out with that statement.

Fortune and the Stipe should be warned off for life if true

In fact is the NHRA not a government sanctioned board? Well they acted like that during COVID, if so then the Stipe should be jailed or executed..

How can we as punters trust racing if things like this are going on....how many other shady deals are going on?...How do we know if all specimens are being tested...how do we know if objections are unbiased ?....how do we know if rules are being breached and hidden by corrupt officials.... someone should send Fortune's statements to the Gambling Board as that is cheating the punter .....

Shocking allegations if true. Take the form books and throw it out the window.

Moodley and Hyde must be Sacked immediately .
Then all truth will come out when someone with out any prejudice is in charge.

Also mention must be made of an owner and clanner Radetzky who had horses in P. E with the Smith stable.
He mentioned harassment from a certain stable and eventually chucked it up with ownership.
And there was also owner and clanner Homer who had the similar experience in P. E.
I think he raced his horses in France after the unsavoury racing experience in P. E.

All the above incidents including the FORTUNE FRAUD occurred long before Moodley was head of the NHRA.
Makes you think how many other incidents got swept under the carpet in that era?
