Sheldon must be the ...........

Sheldon Peters must be the worst commentator around . Calling horses from  last to first , wtf. 
His ongoing  antics and ranting and raving is a bit to much . His dad is a  master ,but he has learnt nothing from him.  
We need a replacement 

Each to their own I suppose, maybe a bit marmite, but we can't just have safe callers.. They are boring

Sheldon is an excellent commentator.

The problem is that he backs 5 horses in one race and when the outsider or heavily backed horse wins, he cannot compose his excitement!!!

More self indulgence than adding colour to the commentary. Annoying,  with random descriptions. He was so amazed that the drone showed King of the Gauls clear in front, does he not use the binoculars? And who the hell is the Dutch professor that we should argue with?

Sorry to burst you bubble bob, it is not about being safe, he has a terrible style of commentary first of all, he sits and talks like he is teaching kindergarten. The nursery rhymes are utter garbage. A commentator must just call the race, even the cape town boys are starting to move into the sing song style lately, johannesburg still has the best and hopefully it stays that way. I just want to know where my horse is, I don't want to know if who is scraping Paint or blowing smoke out of its poephol. And then he is giving himself accolades on air for calling a tight finish right, how unprofessional is that. 

But we can't always blame Sheldon when we've backed the wrong one.

I definitely don't get the calling last to first ! That's a new one for me 😄 

Alistair Cohen is completely different class. Gives a very accurate commentary on what is actually happening during the race. Objective, concise and composed. Dubai's loss is definitely our gain ! 

Agreed Alistair Cohen is outstanding at calling a race , however he is also an exceptional presenter. His in-depth knowledge of the game for someone his age is frightening. Definitely SAs gain. 

The call of Race 3 was pathetic,  piss poor. Disgraceful 

WOW... you beat me to it. I went out of my way to log into ABC just to post that this must be the worst commentary ( and shockingly poor commentator) that I have heard in 50 odd years of racing !!! I have not yet read the thread.... so will do so now.
