Thankful for small mercies 🥺

The power was to come back at 6.30 and it came on at 6.00 ......🙏

Takes a bit pressure of school run.

Not everyone so fortunate...the electricity was to return at 10pm last night...it returned 20 minutes late...just grateful it returned...

.....FFS got info on my app and heard on radio newsthat this load shedding BS would be suspended after 10PM last night.....checked the schedule earier this morning and it was free of load shedding for today so when I saw you okes being grateful for being cut at more appropriate times thought it was rather odd....then I get cut at 10.....no warning no notice no internet no more cell data...... and had to go out to buy some and while there a voucher to punt as it is the cheaper option than to go to a pub and drink as we have yet another cut due later today.....:(

All that happened at 10pm last night was that loadhsedding moved from stage 4 to stage 3...till tomorrow when it will hopefully stop...until something else breaks down to move stages again...

......this ESKOM crap is never going to be fixed as that doos CEO is no better than his predecesors as he is clueless as his talk is getting cheaper while power is becoming a luxury.....I live a few hunderd meters from Megawatt Park or now to be renamed Gigawatt Park....and the suburb has always been a test area for ESKOM projects.....shortly before the advent of loadshedding the whole area was fitted with additional metering boxes that were supposed to send meter readings remotely and also could be cut or throttled by ESKOM remotely.....then 15 years later in the Gupta era we got small indoor meters that did similar making the outdoor oversized boxes obsolete yet all power still was still routed through them.....then about a month ago when we had no loadshedding one of these outdoor boxes shorted out the whole complex was without power.....I went out to chat to the ESKOM chap working on the box and asked why they dont remove them as they were old and obsolete and now prone to the climatic elements....he just smiled and whent on to repair the damage and 4 hours later we had power again....

Then a week later no load shedding but the power goes out again I go outside and see the same ESKOM chappie working on the box again but with him is an outside contractor with his company bakkie and logo.....I ask him what is happening and he tells me that the contractor has to test and approve the repairs as they have a maintainance contract for the lifespan of these obsolete boxes.....FFS de Doos wake the f@ck @p yo@ were s@pposed to have nipped this sh!t in the b@tt eons ago....

Loadshedding supposedly ended last night at 10 but we (Ballito - KZN North Coast) didnt have electricity from 2-5 this morning...

Agree with @onyerway...while Cyril the Squirrel has been busy pretending to be el presidente, the 3 M's (Magashule, Mabuza, Mantashe) have been ensuring that, in the main, their delegates come from the branches to the elective conference...

Cyril the Squirrel joined the JZ tsunami to be in line to assume the ANC (and SA) presidencyso we know that he coveted the role but just can't cut it in doing the tasks he should...never before has some-one in his position known so little about so much that he is constantly shocked when something happens that many could see months before time...
And he is duplicitous...so much easier to deal with the devils you know than the one's that are wolves in sheeps clothing...

So, I hope Cyril the Squirrel gets kicked out in December so that the decline accelerates and the voting fodder can see the ANC for what they are...a month or two without government payouts and thinking will change very quickly...
The analogy I like to use is that for the past 10+ years we have been repairing potholes with municipal workers and kicking the inevitable down the road...all the while that sinkhole is getting bigger and it needs to appear so that proper people (engineers) have to come in to build from the bottom up...

Stay safe and healthy...infection numbers up...still using the unreliable PCR test but it is what it is...the politburo will use any and every means to concentrate power, avoid accountability, plunder / accumulate resources while more people get more impoverished and issue dictates for the little people that they never adhere to...

Water situation in Tongaat (KZN north coast) quite bad...I'm taking water to my parents and in laws daily and, at the place where I collect water for them, most others filling up are residents of Tongaat...

And tankers are either coming to the convenience of a few and the exclusion / difficulty of others, based on orders drivers are getting from their superiors, or late in the evenings when people (like my parents and in laws) are asleep or have locked up for the night...

Going to be a few more months before repairs are done / completed and tanker deliveries need to be improved...

Electricity outages are an inconvenience...water shortages a catastrophe in the making due to diseases that can arise...

As an aside - The protests from the finest that the USA has to offer will be interesting in the weeks and months ahead. They will make the Canadian truckers look like alter boys.
