Gutsy win by Common Grounds under a top ride.
At Fairview on Friday Elusive Hunter and Mhlabeni no show. The former is moderate and needs a maiden handicap, while Mhlabeni is off form and forced to run in pinnacles out at the weights.
One runner at Greyville on Saturday. Dawn Surprise in race 9. She was disappointing in her post maiden run when fading out the last 200m. From a good draw could surprise at long odds.

no show Dawn Surprise.
One runner at Kenilworth on Sunday. Double Dash debuts in race 1. Third foal and both the others are winners. Will need further and this looks quite strong so just watch for now.

One runner at Greyville on Monday
JP Twothousand in race 2. Reverts to poly where he ran 2 good races a few months back. Has dropped in the ratings and gets a nice draw. Could reward his patient owner in a race where anything could win.

Poor run JP
Three runners at Fairview on Friday
Race 2 Elusive Hunter. Unlikely to show.
Race 4 Treasure Hunt. We have sold her, but I think that she has another win or two in her before going to stud. Value ew at 16/1
Race 5 Nothingelsematters. Has bee n a bit below expectations in PE but quite capable of winning this and fair value at 6/1

Elusive Hunter as expected.
Treasure Hunt scratched TCO
Nothingelsematters stayed on gamely for 3rd.
One runner at Scottsville on Saturday.
*Pascali runs in race 3. this is probably too short for him, and a tough draw as well, but the next suitable distance race is in a few weeks time, and rather keep him on the grass.
Could surprise if things go his way, but I have no confidence this trip.

Pascali outsprinted as expected but a good run from off the pace beaten under 2.5L. Will be competitive next time over 1600m-1800m.
One runner at Kenilworth on Sunday.
Flying Bomb in race 3. has been disappointing so far, but hoping for improvement. Tricky draw and difficult field to assess.
Powerandtheglory and Western World look the 2 to beat.

Flying Bomb no show.
One runner at Turffontein on Thursday.
Canford Rose runs in race 5. Seemed to need the run last time after a rest and change of stables following her poor CT campaign.
Should be fitter and won her maiden this track. Has come down in the ratings and if she can find her juvenile form, could spring a big surprise.

Canford Rose slow away and never really in the race. However, she is better than this.
One runner at Fairview on Friday. Treasure Hunt in race 6. Out at the weights in a strong race and her only poly start she did not enjoy the kickback. Will be pleasantly surprised if she troubles the judge. Luna Halo looks a banker.

Decent effort by Treasure Hunt in 4th. Ran better this surface handy avoiding the kickback. Should be followed in a handicap race.
Two runners at Greyville on Saturday.
Celtic Rumours in race 6. Distance suited and in good form. Tough race. Double Grand Slam hard to beat and a couple of kilos out at the weights with Humdinger and Bavarian Beauty. Happy Chance is the lurker if she can regain her best form.
Hopefully CR can show further improvement and get some black type.
Common Grounds in race 8. He has won well last two, and if not finding this too sharp could again step up. Has had a busy few weeks and this is a very competitive race where many with winning chances.

Unfortunately CR kicked the gate and scratched.
Very good run by CG- maybe if Fourie had stuck with him he might have won, although Ant rode a good race.
Given the weight turnaround with Teflon Man and the margin here, I doubt if TM could have beaten him last time even if getting a clear run.
Two runners at Kenilworth on Tuesday.
Double Dash in race 2. She was impressive on debut behind two smart looking juveniles. If she jumps on terms then she must have a good winning chance with the natural improvement. Looks a competitive field with From a Distance and American Ultra possibly the main dangers, but quite a few that can improve on fair debuts and some unknown first timers. The going is soft which makes today's racing very tricky.
Call To Unite in Race 7. Comes back from a break after going wrong in the Politician when fancied to give GWE a challenge. The riding arrangements suggest that he is not the stable elect, and probably will need the run, but if fit enough he could upset from a nice draw.
