Hiersdieding disappointing- green and seemed to need the run. Was restrained early which probably not the right decision. Hopefully will come on from this.
Treasure Hunt fair run in 5th.
On Thursday at Turffontein Stroopsoet ran an improved race, beaten 3L. Should win soon.

One runner at Turffontein on Saturday. Almond Sea returns after a break. Should be too quick for them back over 1000m. Only 4 runners, but two decent colts among them.

Impressive win by Almond Sea

one runner at Fairview on Tuesday. Mhlabeni in race 7. Has been off form last 3 runs, so can’t be fancied.

Mhlabeni a much improved run, and maybe has another win in the tank.

One runner at Turffontein on Thursday. Canford Rose in race 8. Has dropped further in the ratings, and if the equipment does the trick she should be very competitive at a juicy ew price.

Great to see Kommetjie Storm debut. While this wasn't the strongest of fields, the winner is a year older and the runner up has had much more experience. She probably ran about 78-80, which is ok for a debut run where she seemed to run out of puff late, and was not punished after she got tired. Will win a few races.

Canford Rose refused to jump.

Two runners at Fairview on Friday.
Elusive Hunter ran a very much improved run in race 2.
Aussenkher in race 7. Tries the poly but a tough draw to overcome. First effort in PE was disappointing.

Aussenkehr looked very uncomfortable going down and ran a shocker.

One runner at Turffontein on Saturday. Celtic Rumours in race 6. This is her favorite distance but on official ratings is a bit under sufferance with Bavarian Beauty. However, her run in the Hawaii was exceptional, and a repeat of that would give her a winning chance. While at first glance it looks a boat race, there are a few carrying no weight that could surprise.

Cape Racing have optimistically put on a few meetings over the next couple of weeks. However with the rain we have had so far and the forecast, I will be pleasantly surprised if we race at all here the rest of July.

We are finalizing matings for the season, and getting ready for our first foals due in August. Lots of new sires on the market in the Cape, and too few mares to go around.

Very gutsy run by Celtic Rumours- wide draw, shoe refit at the start, no luck in the early running and caught out wide on bend, yet still looked a winner 100m out and narrowly beaten 3rd giving chunks of weight to the two that beat her. Shrewd recent purchase by Mr Wernars and she will make a great addition to his broodmare band when she retires.

One runner at Scottsville on Sunday. Common Grounds runs in race 5. Very competitive race but he has a decent ew chance at a nice price.

Poor performance by Common Grounds

One runner at Durbanville on Thursday.
Walk With Me in Race 1. If fit and handling the going should win with top jockey up.

Good win by Walk With Me.
One runner at Fairview on Friday. Nothingelsematters in race 3. Drops back in trip but should still be competitive in this field. Competitive field and many with chances.

fair run by Nothingelsematters

Two runners at Fairview on Monday.
Elusive Hunter in race 1 ran off her old rating, but still just managed 4th place.
Elusive Mata in race 2. has been disappointing last two, but on best form can win a race of this strength.

Elusive Hunter 4th and Elusive Mata 5th. Both need improvement.

One runner at Greyville on Wednesday. Pascali runs in race 5. He has run ok on poly, but better on the turf. Did not get a run when reserve recently, so letting him run here. Very open race but up against mostly poly specialists.  Capable of running into the money if not too far back turning into the straight.
