Hokaai subject to some betting shenanigans as they tried to get a better price on the winner which was clearly stable elect with the best form and their top workrider. A better effort by Hokaai to earn a cheque and she could pick up a weak maiden sprint before going to stud.
two runners at Fairview on Friday.
Treasure Hunt in race 7. A very open race and she gets a decent draw. The 5point hike for her recent win has made it tough for her but she has an ew shout in this company. Red Sash, You Win Again and Protect The Dream look the main contenders.
Mhlabeni in race 8. He is game, but badly out at the weights here. King Regent looks the one to beat, with Silver Falcon, Khaya's Hope, and Port Louis the dangers.

It’s been a quiet week on the racing front, but some interesting runners coming up this weekend.
One runner at Fairview on Friday. Hiersdieding in race 2. He is still a big baby and will need more time and runs to strengthen up as he will need ground. Gets a nice draw here so hopefully will be a little closer to the action and should continue to improve but still not expecting much from him yet.
Surprisingly, Storm Boulevard has been priced up favorite. He looks held by the two up and coming 3 yos, Kohana and Oliver Twist which should fight it out.
Foaling season in full swing on the farm with 4 foals on the ground and a bunch of mares due in the next couple of weeks.
Elusive Fort is in fine fettle, and his first few mares have tested in foal on the first jump. He remains the best value for money sire in SA, and is emerging as a brood mare sire to follow.
Entries were due last Friday for the Cape Racing Sales 2025 yearling sales. We have a lovely bunch of yearlings, and welcome trainers and owners to contact us to view on the farm.

Two runners at turffontein on Saturday.
Celtic Rumours in race 6. She is ideally distance suited and not the worst of draws. A few of those rated above her may be in need of runs or looking for further. She deserves a feature win and I'm hoping that she can pull it off today..
Aussenkher in race 9. Has been horribly off form and failed in PE. The handicapper has not dropped his rating despite 4 unplaced runs. Hoping the new yard can sort out whatever ails him.
Three runners at Durbanville on Saturday.
De Vlugge and *Golden Ideal in race 3. De Vlugge showed promise before her rest, and if not needing this has a place chance. Golden Ideal was all at sea on debut and should improve, but will need this run too. Wide draw does not help. Champagne Kisses was heavily punted last time when fading out and must be respected this trip. Special Glamour finished in front of her on debut in that race, and with the natural improvement looks the one to beat. The Golden Angel formline will be tested here. Some well bred first timers that could be anything.
Double Dash in race 5. Ran on well close up 3rd against Golden Angel when possibly needing it last time. Cracks a good draw here, and although this looks a very strong maiden, she looks a good ew value bet at 7/1. Wild Applause good debut behind a decent sort and Tuscan Romance top form but has a very tough draw to overcome, look the two to beat.

Thrilling win by Celtic Rumours to land the Gr2. Very good ride by Lerena. Now 3 graded stakes winners for her dam Sylvie, by 3 different sires!
Double Dash was in contention the whole way, but could only manage 3rd. (The commentator failed to mention her name throughout the race and was clearly confused ). I expect her to improve at Kenilworth.
Golden Ideal was fitted with cheek pieces and gave Arries a rodeo lesson going down to the start. She got caught wide from the draw but was up with the early pace this time. She fell away in the latter stages -the effort of running 4 wide taking its toll. She managed to beat one home so at least we get the R3k appearance money. Hopefully she can get a draw next time, and further improvement expected.
De Vlugge missed the places but looked like she needed this outing.
Aussenkehr needs relief from the handicapper.
Its a bit early to be sure, but I think that the Cape 3 yo fillies are shaping up to be a strong bunch, and the upcoming feature races will be well contested.
One runner at Greyville on Sunday. Common Grounds in race 5. This is a competitive Pinnacle, and he comes off a break after something went amiss at his last start. If he is fit and well he can run in the money. There are a number of horses that should find this too sharp, so I would side with the recognized sprinters, Pray for Rain, Captain Bombshell and Good Traveller. Narina Trogon has class, and African Beat carries no weight so could pop up despite being better over further.

Common Grounds had to switch wide and was running on strongly. Good effort and worth considering next time.
Mhlabeni showed pace and faded out at Fairview on Friday. Getting on in years and needs a rating drop.
One runner at Turffontein on Saturday. Warning Sound makes her debut and has been priced up favourite Choisaanada and Spirito Selvaggio both decent debuts but the latter a wide draw. I haven’t heard anything about her, but hopefully the bookies have it correct and Siren’s Call can have another decent runner.
Two runners at Durbanville on Saturday
Flying Bomb in race 5. He has been most disappointing and I wonder whether he should go back to the sprints?
*Golden Angel in race 7. A strong race with some very promising 3yo fillies, and it all depends on which have improved the most from their last runs. Our filly was still green last time and we are very hopeful that she will develop into a feature race contender. I give her a massive chance today.

Golden Angel went handy and did not kick on. Very disappointing but her previous runs were much better when relaxed off the pace.
Overdue but very welcome win by Elusive Mata at Fairview on Friday.
One runner at Greyville on Wednesday. Dawn Surprise in race 7.Disappointing last 2, but has dropped in the ratings and although drawn wide in a competitive race, its a small field and on her best form she is not out of it.

Improved run by Dawn Surprise in 3rd- handled the poly much better this time.
Two runners at Fairview on Friday. Elusive Hunter in race 3. First run out the maidens but an ok draw and an undemanding rating, so has a bigger chance than the long odds would suggest in an open race.
Beau Kala in race 7. Has been the model of consistency all year, and again a lively ew chance.

Elusive Hunter faded out badly. Beau Kala fair run in 3rd.
Double Dash looked the right one on form at Durbanville on Saturday, but again given a poor ride and beaten 2L into 4th.
One runner at Turffontein on Tuesday. Stroopsoet in race 5. Drops back in trip to 1000m, and this is a tougher task than her maiden. Fairly open race and if she behaves then has an ew chance.

A quiet time recently, with Stroopsoet no show,
Mhlabeni and Nothingelsematters also no show at Fairview on Friday.
Golden Ideal at Kenilworth on Saturday again drawn very wide, and some improvement.
One runner at Fairview on Friday. Elusive Hunter in race 8. Poor post maiden run last time, so needs major improvement to feature, and a poor draw to overcome.

Not a bad run by Elusive Hunter beaten 3 L.
One runner at Turffontein on Saturday.
Celtic Rumours runs in the Gr2 Charity Mile. Tough contest and a tricky draw, but she comes off a good win and has a handy galloping weight. Her optimum trip seems to be 1400m, so this testing mile may just find her wanting in the finish, and a strong pace is likely with this big field.

Celtic Rumours up with strong pace so had to fold this distance.
One runner at Kenilworth on Tuesday. *Golden Ideal in race 3. Some improvement last time, and should progress further here, but still not quite ready to handle this type of field.
Sweet Conifer looks the one to beat amongst the raced runners, with Love Story and Berry’s Boogie the dangers, but unraced runners could pop up.
