Why take Boucher to the WC. He is not interested in coaching SA and by the looks of it has not been for awhile. Tell him to take his sarnies and go already. He is going to the WC for a jolly and a scouting mission for his new team

20/20 WC not far off. Aussies on their own patch will be difficult to beat. Crazy that West Indies have to qualify. I hope that they win it again

its a bit worrying, when our T20 WC captain doesn't attract a single bid at the SA20 auction, at his base price:unsure:

Cricket is a very political sport (especially so, in S.africa).
Cricket South Africa has a long-term plan - which is in direct conflict with current needs.
The plan, reflects the view that 90% of the live audience in 10-15 yrs will be non-white - therefore the team, must reflect the same player color density.
Bavuma is a decent test captain, but no one is rushing to buy him as a T20 player. The SA20 franchises are all owned by Indians attached to IPL teams , who want competitive teams.
There are simply better options than him. So, while he will get the captains gig in S.africa for both talent/color reasons, he will not get picked in a free market.
Market forces etc

Bavuma is captain for political reasons as well as being kind of consistent among a bad batch of batsmen...would any of the current top 7-8 (barring De Kock) batsmen have been anywhere near the team 5-10 years ago when you had Smith, Kallis, Amla, de Villiers, du Plessis, etc?
Just the cycle the team is in with the retirements in the last 5-10 years and some-one has got to be captain...

Proteas batting is shocking No chance whatsoever of getting anywhere near the WC rostrum

Hoping that the ICC instruct Australian cricket to bring in the boundary ropes by 5 yards at least especially at the Gabba, SCG and MCG. 6s are an integral part of 20/20.
Who remembers the 92 WC in Australia when SA played the Aussies and opener Marsh was caught first ball at 2nd slip and the Aussie umpire said not out? SA still went onto win that match by 7 wickets I think.

I remember that game well CnC, the game was delayed as they sent for a tube of super glue to stick back the chip that broke off the bat
