The Army and SAPS should warn and then start firing with live ammunition,a few shoppers will be killed and this shit will stop. Then we will hear the sob stories of the deceased "" he just went to buy bread and on his way home he happen to come across a flat screen TV,a fridge/freezer and a case of JWB,and he was taking it home fro safe keeping until he could find the lawful owner ""

No other country in the world would tolerate this lawlessness.

And talk about super spreader events.

My apologies for the rant but this Shit makes my blood boil

My understanding of Ramaphosas speech I last night was that he made it very clear that protecting the lives of people was above all else in importance with regards their (governments) response.
He would not survive another Marakhana on his cv. He is acutely aware of this.
The statements made by police hierarchy today have fully backed this stand up.
People can take what they like, lives are more important that livelihoods. That’s the clear message. A few days of prosperity for a few lawless that will result in unimaginable hardship over the next few months. Too many medium/ big businesses cannot survive this. Most insurers specify riots/unrest are excluded. Even if you do have cover you are stuffed in settling claims, restocked supplier chains etc.
You just had to see by the gauteng reaction today that the only people the looters are afraid of is the sandf . That’s on the back of their actions last year.
Poor kzn. They getting properly stuffed today.

In SA it’s going to take decades to replace what has been destroyed. I thank the police intelligence and action for saving a large hospital full of patients being torched with patients inside. I’m saddened after nearly 18 months of desperate conditions, the huge efforts gone into flying in life saving drugs and people are still prepared to do something like this.

The looters and especially arsonists have no idea what a situation they putting our hospitals in, from medication supply to oxygen. This needs early constant protection it’s a human right. After a nightmare of more than a year my colleagues and friends are now desperate, traumatised, dead tired and living one hour to the next. We have pulled all the stops to re-route our important state of the art IV drugs through difficult air zones which open from time to time. Let’s hope common sense prevails and this is ended soon.

Ayanda Dlodlo the Dodo said that this was not an "intelligence failure"...I agree...you got to have intelligence for it to fail...id10t...

We have been on watch for the last few days...groups in shifts...5-6 hours during the day and 2-3 hours at night...manning every access point to Ballito / Salt Rock...has kept the thugs and criminals at bay for now...not that there haven't been "events"...turned away many vehicles that had no licence plates, no licence discs, multiple male occupants, darkened windows, dodgy stories as to why they want to pass through Ballito / Salt Rock...likely scouts for the thugs and criminals...

Food supplies running low but we do have 2 / 3 stores / pharmacies that are along the coast so very far from any potential access point...long queues but allowing the very basics to be bought...staples, medication, etc...

Stay safe...got to go to my next shift...

When Cyril, and Bheki "didn't the hat shop do well" Cele say they are bringing in more voyures, it's cause for concern.
They should have used mannequin dolls rather than army personnel.

Mr President you have totally lost the plot.
