We start a new week and a new racing season on day 130 of the lockdown.
Let’s see where the future of racing takes us, will follow Ziets 11runners today in PE.
We now have reported 8366 deaths after 213 on Sunday.
Song for the day is one of my all time favs.
Reminds us that little changes over the years

Morning on day 131.
Corruption levels continue to rise amongst our appointed leaders.
Racing remains very quiet as we await to find out if we will have new kids on the block, to take racing forward.
A few hot favs in the Cape today, it looks an easy card ?
As we sit in limbo re: the future, will just focus on a song for today.
When I chose Harvest to the World yesterday, I remembered that a good version was done by Paul Carrack ( Mike and the Mechanics) he was a very good chanter and I was spoilt for choice, looking at his hits.
I have gone for this one for Cyril.

Day 132
Again not much to say as the country remains in chaos under the ANC.
Racing? Your guess is as good as mine as the silence remains.
Betfred could be a solution?
The financial figure being reported for the closure of drink sales is a loss of R11BILLION.
However notice some ANC lads still partying (I agree with them).
Garrick gave me a song consideration with his post.
I guess it’s to all SA citizens.

Those currently with the power to change things (ANC voters) do not have (enough) "skin in the game" (tax money) to want to see the status quo (dependency on government from cradle to grave so don't vent enough about corruption and theft) changed...
Poor get social grants, etc
Middle get government jobs, no consequences, etc
Rich get government tenders to route money back to the ANC as "donations", etc
If you are in any of these three categories, the status quo benefits you so no change likely to come anytime soon...
The DA had a tiny opportunity to make more inroads but blew it with their wokeness...pandering to the snowflakes...and it got them a declining share of the vote and into bed with the EFF...folly...

I agree and understand we will get no change, the ANC are also aware of this.
We need them to change their untouchable stance and make some common sense changes and STOP dipping the cookie jar.

In the end, economics / finances will win out (much the same as it did with apartheid) ...government can only force Reserve Bank to print money for so long before inflation comes through and impacts most harshly on the poorest of the poor like social grant recipients...
and that may force a change in circumstances for the betterment of the majority rather than the core group of thieves that currently rule over the proletariat...

Day 133
The corruption cases just keep coming to a head, 64 grand for 8 grand shacks, tents for hospital marked up by 190%.
However all these incidents will be “brought to book” and will join a very long list.
The Virus will have come and gone long after we solve the financial damage.
Things could be worse according to our 4 Yorkshiremen ( no offense Molly’s).
