Day 141 and it appears my meeting at Eskom made no difference.
We are currently in the dark đ
The bookies good run continues with a 300/1 shot winning yesterday in Ireland âHe Knows No Fearâ.
We can wait for next Wednesday for the Juddmonte at York to watch Ghaiyyath bolt in at 6/4.
As far as local, will be hoping our good friend Ziets can break the ice.
Marmara Sea should continue on its winning run and will be everyoneâs banker.
As far as a song.
It was over 50 years ago, I went to a nightclub in Edinburgh (The Place).
I am sure the headline act was Gino Washington and the Ram Jam Band?
Was watching the stage being set up, I thought it was the bands crew.
The young chap picked up the guitar a blew the place away.
The band was Taste and the front man was an Irishman, Rory Gallagher.

Hi KitKat you can expect the normal opening irrelevant speech until he gets to the actual message he wants to announce.
I have no idea what he will say? What he should say IMO is :
We are sorry that we have mislead the majority of SA citizens, putting them through unnecessary hardships over a lengthy period, this is due to us being unable to decipher the information received without using an element of common sense.
Corruption remains a high priority but very hard to keep at bay.

Day 142, itâs Saturday and a wonderful sunny day forecast with a braai and racing planned.
This is an early post as the power is due to go off again shortly, with another cut due later in the day.
We still await any type of press release re: the future of local racing.
Itâs the big T today and we have 7 money on shots on a nine race card.
Overseas we have plenty options Newmarket, Newbury, Doncaster and Chepstow.
However the best racing is in France where Mishriff vs Victor Ludorum should be a classic class.
Scottsass ( I like the name) should come home lonely at the Deauville track.
We still await the Presidents announcement.
So I must be positive and all I need is a ...... ...............

So, the National State of Disaster ends today and still deafening silence from the Pres.
Hopefully he is a football fan and after last nights display by Bayern he will be generous and use common sense regarding the future of a battered population and an ailing economy.
I reiterate: Hope eternal springs.

Lot of activity and lights on behind closed doors in our local licensed victualler since wednesday.
Trucks and deliveries around the back.
This is the same as happened the last time they opened-albeit briefly

Day 143

Ok he has spoken and we move to level 2, so we can gather that Zuma has been asked to leave the Island đ
As far as Racing :
On the local front we have Scottsville where I like our International friends horse Zagara.
UK we have Newbury, Market Rasen over the jumps.
At Ripon, have gone for Brian the Snail ew at 14/1.
France is where the good racing is today .
Tiger Tanaka can get back to winning ways.
Frankie stays in France to ride unbeaten Palace Pier but Persian King and Circus Maximus also in line up and the race of the day.
Another good race will be where unbeaten Valia ( Soumillon) takes on Frankie with Laburnum.
On the football front Bayern Munich look very strong for the Champions League after City exit.
As far as a song for Sunday, I again go back in time to a band called Gerry and the Pacemakers.
You have to feel for the lads being around the same time and town as the Beatles.
Their biggest hit was the Liverpool anthem âYouâll Never Walk Alone,â in fact they had 3 number ones. âHow Do You Do Itâ and âI like itâ was the other 2.
Other hit was âFerry Cross the Merseyâ.
The song I have chosen for today, is âDonât let the sun catch you cryingâ which must be a problem for many SA citizens.
You would guess that I prefer the Paul Carrack version but here is the original from Gerry Marsden.
