When it concerns one’s stock of grog one must always react to fake news.

Good morning all

Not exactly sure how many days of various lockdowns we have had since I started this thread but it’s been in the region of 210, yes seven bloody months !! What a tragedy it has been.😷

Still not sure if the virus has been exaggerated or not, have read so many reports on stats with trying to balance between economic vs humanitarian and my belief is we have gone overboard in favour of humanitarian.
In the end with the financial damage caused, it’s probably had a worse effect on the humanitarian headcount.

Anyway, we can discuss until we are all dead but at the end of the day it certainly is a strange and deadly virus when you have to go for a checkup to establish if you have it?

As far as SA, latest concerns are the bail out of SAA, the corruption cases of many ANC officials and basically the financial state the country is in.🙈
Plus a potential second wave 👹

Well at least we can look forward to the weekend plus early next week we have the election in the States and the Melbourne Cup.

We have some decent racing from the big T on Sat. It’s a pity Anything Goes had to be scratched as viruses appear to be hitting various stables also making the form lines worse (if that’s possible)? Malmoos should be worth watching.

We also keep generating our own drama in the last few weeks, which is again not good for the image of racing.
Bremner, Venter, Fortune, Maujean, Wernans all racing concerns.

As far as the massive Joe vs Donald debate, 276 comments and 5230 views, we will know our fate on Tuesday, I personally want Trump to win, purely from a financial global position.

At least it’s Halloween to brighten the mood 🔥🤡🎃

Let’s talk about the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday morning.
When I watched Sir Dragonet win at York, was convinced he was something special but he proved me wrong over many months until he won the Cox Plate.
I will be following up at 7/1 on Tuesday

Watch this race again and GOOD PUNTING.

Thanks Dave. Something to ponder on, regarding your comments, specifically:

"Still not sure if the virus has been exaggerated or not, have read so many reports on stats with trying to balance between economic vs humanitarian and my belief is we have gone overboard in favour of humanitarian.
In the end with the financial damage caused, it’s probably had a worse effect on the humanitarian headcount."

Since when does this world, and all the giant corporations that are now supporting lockdowns etc, given a rats ass about humanitarian consequences? In fact, quite the opposite, they knowingly prioritize financial benefit over human head count.

Hi Lionel

I was rambling a bit this morning but my take was that the excessive close down of businesses and industry has been fatal.

The intention was to protect human life but IMO, the governments got the balance wrong and they have caused more damage with their actions than if we had all carried on regardless of the virus.

I am not against a mask and keeping distance but I don’t agree with closing industry and forcing people to starve at home.

This is not just a SA problem, many Governments are still making the wrong call.
As I said it’s only my opinion 😷

Dave, SA and most of the world, are dancing along to the tune of the W.H.O. The W.H.O is in the pocket of the CCP. Most countries are indebted to the CCP. The Dems policies made this possible.

CCP knew about the virus in December. They shut Wuhan residents from flying to other provinces in China, but allowed them to fly all around the world. CCP also bought up all the PPE. Ships from China that was already en route to the purchaser destinations, were called back. This is facts.

Now, Bill Gates and Fauci came out in support of the CCP's handling of the virus.

N95 masks or better, will work against almost anything. That's a no brainer. But telling my that putting anything over my nose and mouth will also work ....that makes me stop and think a bit. W.H.O's bullsh*^tting who?

Jack Nicklaus, fresh off his supportive tweet of President Trump, questioned whether the coronavirus death toll was correct in an interview published Friday.

Nicklaus talked to the Palm Beach Post about his decision to publicly support the president’s reelection. When asked about Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, Nicklaus said he doesn’t think anybody would have done anything different than what Trump has done.
Nicklaus, 80, said he knew two people whose parents had died from something other than COVID-19, and said the unnamed people were asked whether their deaths could be changed to COVID-19 and declined the request.

“The hospital gets more money with COVID death than they do another death,” the golf legend told the newspaper. “I’m sure there’s been a lot of that.”

Nicklaus said he and his wife, Barbara, tested positive for the coronavirus in March. He said his wife was symptomatic, and he had a sore throat and cough.

“Sure, I was concerned,” he said. “I took hydroxychloroquine. Gone in two days.”

So because a person has an opinion that doesn't fit with your narrative or doesn't agree with your politics, he has "f@ckall between the ears"? Says much more about your intellect than him...:( ...

The facts are that service providers were able to claim more from Medicare and Medicaid if death was assigned to the Chinese coronavirus...

Even in South Africa, there has been over-servicing (ventilator treating which is much more costly has been the go to option rather than oxygen treatment which also works - CMS has done some research on the claims based on medical aid claims data) relating to this pandemic due to the extra money service providers can make from medical aids and "cash" patients...

Here's an 80 year old telling you that he recovered in 2 days, and you assault him. Who is the oxygen thief?

@ TN

There are famous brands in footwear, clothing etc that are now made in China. Chances are your Reebok, Nike, Levis, even Big Bear are made in China. The factories are given the specs to produce the merchandise by the licensee.
The important factor here is the country of origin.
The virus may have been made in China, but was it commissioned by the Chinese Govt?
