Day 179 and not sure if we are on level One, or it starts at midnight?

Would have to say the climate in Kloop is rather erratic and we find ourselves with an overcast day as opposed to yesterday’s scorching weather.

I feel the PE situation remains critical but at this stage the racing authorities don’t appear to have the same urgency? I can only hope that behind the scenes action plans are in progress 🙏

I notice on the Covid thread that we had the lowest death rate of 13 since I started recording, I hope it’s not a one day fluke and we are on the way to recovery.🤞

As far as Monday racing we have plenty options but still difficult times for the punters.
UK and Ireland
Warwick
Leicester: where Shine on You can improve on debut and Dhabyah at unbackable odds are the exotic bankers.
Hamilton
Wolves: tonight where Rodrigo Diaz can make it 3 in a row.
Listowel and Fairyhouse in Ireland make up your options.

As far as local we are still in KZN at Greyville:
Where we can hopefully see the very popular silks of Mario Ferreira again in the winners box to avoid the punters Madness

It’s day 180, I used to love the darts “ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY” call.

I have ended the Covid Thread, as far as a daily update is concerned.

As far as this thread, “thoughts and fears at level one” hopefully will also disappear as far as the Virus is concerned.

It’s also my intention to stop the daily post on this thread as I have enough song selections for my Davs favs funeral songs.
Which ones to select is another concern.
I will rest at the pizza oven at the Hangover pub, where my ashes will be placed.

This thread was started with my daughter in Kloof and ends 180 days later in Kloof, where incidentally we have another spectacular day as far as weather is concerned.

I feel our thoughts and fears should firmly move to racing.
My concerns revolve around the PE saga, I feel sorry for the IRC chaps and the lack of involvement from our racing bodies.
My fear is that nothing might change and it might be a case that the new regime are as hell bent on ignoring punters, owners and trainers concerns as previous?
I know it’s probably early doors and the dragging out of the BR team has not helped. The handing over the reigns to MOD should happen soon and they will have one hell of a job to change the image of SA racing going forward.

It’s difficult to take one song to end this 180 day journey from level 5 to level one.

I can only hope that TRANSPARENCY on whatever is planned going forward for horse racing in SA is shared and the VOICE OF THE PUNTERS is not ignored.

Good Punting.

I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT, sounds appropriate.

Plans for fans to return to watch live sport events in England from 1 October will not go ahead, says cabinet office minister Michael Gove.

Pubs, bars and restaurants must close at 22:00 from Thursday in England and Wales, and from Friday in Scotland.

What sort of time control is 22:00?

British racing was left reeling on Tuesday following the devastating news that crowds are unlikely to return for six months – something one of the industry's most senior figures said "threatens the survival of sports organisations and the many livelihoods they support".

The impact of the coronavirus has already had a huge impact on the sport, which has taken place behind closed doors since its resumption in June, although it was hoped spectators would be able to return from October 1.

However, that optimism disappeared when prime minister Boris Johnson, speaking in the House of Commons, announced the restrictions in a bid to curb transmission of the disease, including the banning of crowds at planned sports pilots such as Newmarket's three-day Cambridgeshire meeting this week.

Back to my old post after our travels and always nice to get home .

Have no idea how many days of lockdown we are on now?

Fears and thoughts remain around racing and some scary topics have arisen over the last few weeks and none good .

The powers that be appear rather calm during these difficult times?

However have to rush as our power went off at 9 this morning, checked the load shedding etc.

Cables stolen AGAIN must have been 10th time this year.
They estimate 22h00 before back on and Mrs S trying to get ready for a memorial service.

A long depressing day ahead

Good Punting if you have power.
