What's happening in the real world?

Do we have the vaccine yet and what's the plan, when is it coming? Where is it coming from? Can we pay for it ? Is it the real McCoy? Can we buy at robots yet?

Plus has the drinks ban been lifted yet or do we still have to pay double while people lose jobs and businesses close?

When is Cyril having another family meeting or is he going the Mugabe route?

Well I guess ito a vaccine, the short answer is 'your guess is as good as mine' - and as to whether you would need a shot, I heard on TV this morning that apparently according to the WHO, current data shows that around 1 in 10 people who had COVID, got it for a 2nd time ....

The same doctor said that he does not repeat a test for someone that tested positive the first time, as the 2nd test will often present a positive as well, although the person may no longer be sick - apparently the 2nd test only confirms that 'dead virus cells' are still present - of course this presents a problem if people want to fly internationally - then a negative test is needed - so what to do ?

Ito booze, apparently all sorts of court cases are being prepared, but I am not holding my breath - I guess as long as the hospitals are filled to capacity, there won't be a change to the policy, unless the courts see it differently

Ito the family meeting, my guess is that the next one will probably be in the first week of Feb - but who knows ?

Is there a time scale to the 3 phases and an action plan to the logistic requirements?

I'll be late phase 3...if ever...so likely to see efficacy of the vaccines before it's my turn...

Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu has passed away.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the news of Mthembu’s passing from complications related to Covid-19 on Thursday afternoon.

It is with deep sorrow and shock that we announce that Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu died earlier today from COVID-related complications. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of loss.

He was a much-loved and greatly respected colleague and comrade, whose passing leaves our nation at a loss. Please help me to understand the logic in this... Or am I expecting too much from our government. Private schools open 1st Feb but public schools open only 15thFeb. Maybe the reason is most of the politicians kids go to pvt schools as I am 100% sure my daughters school is just as safe if not safer than the pvt schools.

Monty if you still expect logic from this government then I can only believe you are a veryyyy slow learner.
Dont forget... they also banned the import of Ivermectin as unsafe or 'unproven' for humans but it is specified on their permitted drugs schedule for the past 4 years (page 61)....
